I’ve been playing Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP for quite a while now and am impressed by how well the concept and gameplay still hold up, to this day. This incredibly faithful remaster was developed by DRAGAMI GAMES, including many of the original staff who worked on the original game. Not only is this remaster extremely well optimized, but it also looks really pretty, due to the upgrade from Unreal Engine 3 to the latest version of Unreal Engine 5.

The developers did a fantastic job porting this game to PC; the controls feel smooth, responsive, and up-to-date. Updated character models and animations, massively improved texture quality, unlocked framerate, optional V-Sync, and a Fidelity / Performance mode; it got everything you would expect from a proper remaster. And yes, it’s all uncensored!

As with the gameplay, the story remains unchanged, written by James Gunn and Masahiro Yuki. While every original Juliet costume stayed, certain licensed content from back then didn’t make it into the remaster, such as Juliet’s „Ash“ outfit, based on Ashley J. Williams from the Evil Dead franchise, or „Rei Miyamoto“ outfit from Highschool of the Dead.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is an incredibly fun and entertaining Hack and Slash adventure, with easy to obtain achievements, a great soundtrack, and lots of lewd jokes and suggestive themes. The remaster embodies everything unique and fun about the original, without losing any of its glamour. I can therefore highly recommend it to anyone who loved the original.
