When this game first came out I had high hopes for it I really did, however after it got all its updates and was shelved by the developers this game feels incomplete, has a lack of things to do, and the main story is basically just a rush through. I love the concept and really wish it went somewhere, and part of me still hopes that at some point and time a Dev team takes the same idea and makes a sort of Starbound 2 but actually sticks with it and fleshes it out, but I don't see that happening. The only thing that keeps this game playable at this point are the mods on the workshop and I shouldn't have to tell you why that's a bad thing. If you haven't played Starbound before go ahead and buy it, it's worth the playtime for your first time and that is about it, unless you plan on modding it a hell of a lot after that first time, it is not worth buying. Kinda disappointed Chucklefish let this possible masterpiece go down the drain because they didn't want to push through their terrible promises and backlash of their lies in search of a cash grab, this game could have been a once in a life time title but cash is more important then making something unique I guess.

If you don't feel like reading all that here is a short summary.
Game is short.
Lacks Content.
Isn't complete.
Dev Team left the game to die.
Worth only a first play through.
Modders keep it alive.
Wish someone would make a Starbound 2.

I' am not knacking anyone for enjoying Starbound I enjoyed it too throughout it's life but I' am just sad that the Developers just forgot about it. I imagine what could have been the best 2D space exploration game.

I haven't seen any rain, I've been seeking the storm since, and no sight of rain. The Journey is quite enjoyable though! Come join me on the quest to find the rain.

Just some good ol fashion beat 'em up fun with rougelite elements to it! Fun weapons, enemies to fight, even the npc's are fun and cute! Leave it to Klei to give me another game to fall in love with.

Okay let me just say y'all shouldn't be review bombing this game just because of something sony did, it's not the Dev's fault sony did this. All this review bombing is doing is hurting the game even further. HELLDIVERS 2 is fun as all hell, and very well treated by its Dev's, but making more problems for them isn't going to fix this issue! Leave the "Sony's is bad" reviews for somewhere other then the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ store page reviews!

Okay hear me out, its cute, and colorful, but it throws a unique spin on the BR genre. The top down view is what really gets me hooked on this game, and most of the time the people you meet are super friendly! Not to say there aren't sweats and toxic people, those are everywhere. All I'm saying is, if you want a review, why not review it yourself, it's free and its not like its going to harm you to try out a game cause its cute and colorful.

I promise you there aren't enough words I could say to do this game justice, and the Devs definitely care about they game they have! They're always active in their own community and at least listen to the feedback 90% of the time, and always take ideas into heart from the people that play their game. So for a unique, cute, and mostly friendly game to have such wonderful Devs is fresh to see. And they give so much in terms of cosmetics that you can get without needing to drop a single cent.

Wanna know how to truly give this game a fair judgement, play all the modes, and play with friends. Don't think about paying money or buying cosmetics, just focus on playing and try it out. It's fun solo, but friends can make the game for anyone! There are also fun gamemodes they switch every 2 weeks to spice things up, so you don't always have to play super hard every game you're in! I love the Casual-ness of this game and I think a lot of you will to! I just hope to see some of you in the game so you can tell me about it yourselves!

This is Hexy, have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by my review! ^-^

So I played this game first on console, and i had a lot of fun with it, and when I got it on steam I had even more. For an odd mix of Rouge-lite and Tower Defense it's surprisingly fun, and when you have 4 Hero's it becomes chaotic! However throw some friends into the mix, and its an absolute Riot of a time! I highly recommend this game for people looking for a game that is small, hard, and has a lot of different play styles. The only problem I've had with this game though was the learning curve, the tutorial doesn't explain much so you're pretty much left up for trial and error or searching for answers online.

Final thoughts: If this game has peaked your curiosity, try it! It's not expensive and has both a fun Easy mode and Hard mode. And if you like Strategy games? This might be for you. I'd still do research before you buy just to make sure it's for you though!

So I wanna start this out by saying what this game does right, for starters this game does offer a good challenge for every type of play through. If you like easy mode, it does a good job of still giving you challenge while keeping the game just fair enough to not push you away, while in the reverse it allows you to tweak the game to make it as hard as you want, while still letting you progress as fast as you want and making it a challenge to do so.

The Combat while at first taking a bit to get used to is simple and fun, but in depth enough with the skills to make every new play through a new way to try out new gear and weapons. You can still use whatever despite what skills you build into so you're never forced into using only guns, or only melee, or even only one specific type of gun or melee. And the progression of weapons while not the best (I'll get to that later) is still good enough to make sure every weapon you grab gets a fair bit of use to the player.

The scavenging system is fine and doesn't need any further changes to how it is, its as simple as it gets, loot a source and it generates loot. The longer you play that same world, the better and more loot you can find when scavenging the higher your "Game Stage" gets. However "Game Stage" is the thing that might be tricky at first for people as it goes up based on days survived, level, zombies killed, etc. Meaning leveling too fast can set your world into chaos, but leveling to slow will keep you stuck in one place.

Now lets get into what this game has a really bad issue with as I feel as if I've talked about most of the important stuff already. The games skills and the way you learn recipes and make better gear is abysmal, at least the current release is abysmal. Early releases had you leveling things like your athletics by running, jumping and being athletic. You know the kinda thing that makes sense. Same thing for using construction tools, meaning you know those tools better and can make better tools of that variety. But now now matter how much you run, jump, use a bow, craft and build, you can only make better stuff by reading some magazine you just got lucky enough to find in a random cabinet in a burned down house hiding in the woods. . . I've never had the pleasure of hating a skill system like this before until the recent 6 patches and forward releases. A balance between the 2 would be nice but that wont happen. I'd like for the things I do to contribute to how I survive, like my stamina being tied to my athleticism and not being locked behind having to level up 20 times just to max out stamina recovery for just sprinting and nothing else.

Next lets talk about food! Tasty yummy food! Its not the food part I wanna get into, its the complete scrapping of the "Wellness" mechanic. having the good food you eat make you healthier while eating bad food lowering your health was such a unique feature, and they threw the whole thing away and made your wellness tied to, you guessed it, your character level! I get this game is an RPG survival game, but it doesn't need to follow typical RPG mechanics. It was fine before, and its trash now. Give us a toggle for it so people can play how they want, but don't throw the whole thing away cause you're lazy and don't want to fix the small issues it had.

The old guns were either found or made with parts, or you needed to learn the recipes from a book or schematic which was fine, swapping parts on the go to make a better gun could save you countless times, but now you can have a cluttered inventory just from parts you can't use until like a month later in game time. The new system of having to read like 20+ magazines just to learn how to upgrade a pipe shotgun to a double barrel is annoying and I feel like it'd be better if you had to find schematics for weapons and keep major skill books and minor skill magazines separate instead of making everything in the same category.

Clothing used to be good, it recently got dumped for it's new system. . . item sets. . . yup item sets! Who needs to have several outfits for hot or cold climates, when you can just remove all that and say "Try out the new armor sets no one asked for!" They scrapped civilian clothing like boots, shoes, shorts, jeans, shirts, sweaters, and jackets, for armor sets like looking like a farmer with buffs, or a soldier with buffs, meaning you now spend the entire start of the game being stuck in caveman clothing. . . nice job guys, you screwed up.

The final thing I wanna touch on is Performance Optimization. These people refuse to optimize their game, it runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I'm using a high end PC, i cannot put this game to high graphics without this game running my PC like a jet engine. Don't know what kind of computers they think people have but if you want max graphics, better bust out the check book and make hundreds of payments for a super computer cause this game barely runs on medium settings and will eat your PC if you dare to run it higher. The biggest issue they have is lighting optimization and its been that way since early alpha, it's 1.3 now, when are you going to fix issues instead of add more useless garbage?

Overall This game could be better if they used their heads for once. It still has a lot of play time and is still worth buying, but its worse now then it was before hand and you need to know that before buying the game. Wait til it's on sale, don't buy it full price. Enjoy what you're given for now, and if it gets worse then it is now, then I'm sorry to you and everyone else who had to buy it and watch it get dropped in a hole further then 6 feet. Here is hoping the Fun Pimps get their head out of the trough in the back of their offices and stop trying to make a Warcraft zombie game, and go back to being unique about their play style, cause as of now they're confused on what they want and that Isn't healthy for a game developer to do for their game.
