I have around 500 hours in all of the total war warhammer games. I have bought most of the DLC. I have played most of the game. Its good. Honestly enjoy the extremely well detailed map. There are lot of little details on the overworld map that I honestly find enjoying to look at. The music changing for every fraction big plus as well. The combat in the RTS side of the game is actually not half bad sometimes, but it still is just total war, the formula was made in 2000, and tweaked and pulled to do what they want to do.
But one thing I find greatly dissatisfy about this game is the true cost of this game. 410.27 USD as of August, 2024 to unlock the whole game. But I've been a very long time player so to me I didn't really notice that. If you're to be a new brand new player with no idea and just want to buy the 'whole game' DO NOT. Buy only factions you believe you would want to play for about a good while for your own metric.
As said I'm a long time player picking up total warhammer 2 on sale in 2019. Played the honest hell out of it. So being such a long time player I do not enjoy this common strategy in game marketing practice today. But honestly I understand hopes and dreams don't keep the lights on. But wish it wasn't like that sometimes where a person wouldn't have to spend so much to just enjoy the full game today.
I would say if you want to play it but are iffy, just get the base game on sale and see if you like it and if you do just play vanilla and watch some videos about warhammer lore. Like warhammer lore is just honestly amazing for a nerd like myself.
