Far better than Persona 5, you know it.

If you want a casual MMO with a lot of social aspects and mini-game events you will really enjoy this game. Yeah, the blocky textures give it a lego and minecraft feel but still stylizes along the lines of classic Maplestory. Keep in mind that the games grind has been all but completely removed unlike its predecessor, there is no real need to grind mobs for levels or rare items until after you get to the max level and for content yet to be released.

If you enjoyed Maplestory but are put off by the blocky environment textures try to get over it and you'll enjoy it all the same. Just prepare to pump some money into it to get those cute items you want.

I bought this game because I wanted a medieval game to wank too before I die of old age waiting for Bannerlord. Another very important reason that enticed me to buy it is that it would undoubtfully help make a few mentally disabled people upset.

I know that this was a good decision though.
Why? Because I'm 3 hours into the game and it's far better than Skyrim 3: The Wild Roller.

Too bad the game runs like ass still.
Consider buying it after a optimization patch, the CPU utilization is stupid bad.

Join Rean along with the other students of Class VII from Thors Military Academy as they travel through Erebonia on their field studies to solve issues for locals and discover who they are and their place in the political world before a darker more serious story unfolds and explodes.

Unlike somewhat similar franchises and titles, ToCS focuses more on the global political and military elements throughout the story helping players absorb the world better instead of fading into the background as an afterthought. But the real pull is how lifelike and different all of the characters are; Rich, poor, noble bloodline, and commonfolk. Each character and NPC typically will have a different background or attitude bringing about a more believeable world.

I also like how each new installment is not a brand new game in a brand new world (or distant timeline) but a few years into the timeline so players can see familiar faces facing different struggles in a changing, evolving world.

Oh and the PC port is absolutely flawless.
Running this in 3440x1440 when it was originally optimized for the PS Vita is insane.

Horrendous coding and development went into this abomination.

Unreported problems, errors, and exceptions found on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 with no information in the event viewer.

You know developers failed their code audit when they suggest you add their executable to your AV/FW whitelist.

Buyer's beware.

Developers have acknowledged the optimization issues and the community is trying to help at the time of this post.

Nier: Automata is a sequel to Nier set in sum 7000 years into the future from Nier Gestalt in a post-apocolyptic setting following what was the 14th Machine War. The player plays as an android who belongs to an organization to protect humanity, or what's left of it, called YoRHa. YoRHa seemingly created these sentient androids as strategy to preserve what is left of humanity and hopes to defend the remaining humans on the moon. While open world games can be a hit or miss (moreover miss) Nier: Automata makes good use and sense for their open world enviornment through the different biomes and environments. Players will regularly inspect subtle design choices in the environments giving a very believable artistic edge to the fantasy style of the game. Even the fixed camera angels during some of the transitions feel right and add some integrity to the games style.

(It's really nice to see a post-apocolyptic style game that isn't a brown and dusty bowl.)

Gameplay is also very refreshing. Players are regularly rewarded for correcting their combat mistakes, even the tutorial forces players to really begin understanding the mechanics before you can even reach the first save point. This helps deter players who think they can glide through the gameplay by mashing buttons without a thought. And while the game is (what seems to be) loaded with sidequests to help add some gameplay fluff, they can be vital for extra materials, items, and levels so players are not grinding out levels to progress the main story more smoothly.

The sounds are what I would expect from this series. Like Nier, Nier: Automata has the same excellent composers perfect for the style of the settings. Each track seems to have a lot of thought and care poured in by how well they reflect the setting and situation. Being as mechanical and robotic as it is, its surprising how much time went into giving the many robots and androids different personalities and traits giving a lot of life to the machines. And while I am not in love with the english voice acting they aren't necessarily bad in any way, though it is good the team decided to include dual audio as they should.

While being familiar with Nier is preferred, it is in no way required to get the full enjoyment out of this game.
This brings back what games should be.

The newest title of the Tales series and the best I have personally played. Tales of Berseria fixes most if not all of the issues that made Tales fans dislike its timeline successor, Tales of Zesteria.
This one, set on a deadset mission of revenge, has a similar feel to Grandia II with its dark, gritty elements and characters. The character cast in Berseria is also fantastic, each with a goal, purpose, and different attitude, which is really refreshing to have.

VA-11 Hall-A cyberpunk bartending game that feels like a slice of life visual novel with many elements to the Snatcher or even Policenauts series.
The player takes the role of Jill, a common bartender employee of Valhala, serving drinks to random customers who come in and share their lives and give detail on what is going on in Glitch City. Expect a intresting, believable cast and soundtrack to fit the games atmosphere.

Best enjoyed along with some beverages.
