Certainly is a Monster Hunter game. While I won't deny I've had a few frame drops here and there, there are still considerable issues surrounding the newer cards. So, be wary. I am not currently using the HD pack, for instance, so I don't know if that's helping me avoid the crashes that's been around.

Story is never the strong focus of any Monster Hunter title, and it's certainly had a few iffy moments. But so far, rolling the first credits, it's been pretty serviceable. The new cast certainly fit the billing, so far.

I would probably wait for a few patches and keep an eye on the updates if you're looking to push the graphics given the issues currently rolling around, and the Multiplayer seems more jank this turn around. I don't get why you'd throw in the option to run a large hub, and then have the ability to have a party join to free roam only to boot every one out and needing to invite in again just because they started a hunt. Everyone is there, there's no cutscene, so why force the other three people through a load cycle? Also have seen some desync, but that's always present in the game.

Solid release, with a few nasty issues. One to watch.
