Loved the story, music, art direction, voice acting, animation... almost everything.

What brings this game way down for me is the gameplay, performance, and story pacing. The setup for the story is really well made, but after that the story becomes so uninteresting to me. It's not before you get way into the game that the story finally picks up.
Then it's the gameplay. People are praising the gameplay and I find it quite interesting myself. The main problem though is how incredibly inconsistent the parry window is. Some enemies you have to parry before they hit you, other enemies you have to parry while they are hitting. Some few you actually have to parry when they are done hitting you. It's so frustratingly inconsistent that it makes the game become unfun. Some status effects and other effects are also obscuring the enemy's animation, which makes them very hard to read.

Also, what is up with the damage cap? I managed to reach the damage cap very early in the game and usually prefer to go glass cannon builds when possible in games. In this game I essentially stopped building damage and had to build tank because building damage made no difference in damage output. Eventually the damage cap is removed, but it happens so incredibly late in the game that it becomes more of an annoyance than a relief and something to be celebrated.

Then it's the performance. The game looks incredible and it's incredibly rare for a game to look this good and stylised. Unfortunately I don't like how one has to use DLSS to make the game run at any reasonable framerate.

Overall a nice experience, but the fights got dull so quickly from the lack of progression.

I feel bad for the ones who never got the chance to experience this, or are too afraid to experience it.

I wish I could give a neutral review on this game. The game is really flawed, but I overall enjoyed it. I heard online that the game was really bad, but it's honestly not.

The overarching story is kind of nice, but I feel like the pacing is completely off, especially at the beginning. Conversations are slow and full of fluff that overall makes them uninteresting. Fortunately it picks up around the midpoint and ends kind of nicely.

Rosa, Sage, and Stella have some extreme 2D personalities. Their entire personality can be described with one sentence and I think that's a problem considering how much screentime they have. I don't think they even should be in the story considering how they are utilised.

The songs are great. Liked them a lot and got emotional at times. The music game is kind of a mixed bag though. It's really cluttered and I feel like the timing for some notes are not times correctly. Still, the music kind of made up for it.

The choice UI is really satisfying to use. I praise the devs who are responsible for it and wouldn't change it for anything else. I might take some inspiration for my own projects.

The "choice matters" part of this game is very lackluster imo. It feels undercooked and I don't think it makes much of a noticeable impact on the story.

The art direction is... odd. Their heads have huge foreheads and their snouts are kind of short, especially Trish's. So many of the faces simply look flat despite the art looking quite 3D. I didn't realise before someone pointed out after the game that the characters are *not* 3D models, but 2D animated. Really surprising that they didn't go for a different style then. There are some lip syncing issues as well in addition to some very stiff scenes. Fang is essentially animated as indifferent in almost all scenes and it's really odd to see.

Overall:
It's a really flawed game and could have been better, but it's overall a nice experience in the end. I still think Snoot Game has a way more impactful and important story, but it feels nice to also have experienced this game too.

Can't recommend this one. It really feels like you are replaying the same levels time and time again with little variety. The AI doesn't feel smart enough to be a challenge. I wish I could love this game

Really fun and satisfying gameplay. I like having to plan around the opponent's strengths and weaknesses, but there are very often characters who simply had few or no weaknesses and made it extremely difficult to fight them. I had one enemy who was arrow-proof, vault breaker, and would also dodge all attacks from the front. It also wasn't easy leading them somewhere else because the area was quite empty.

One issue I had is when an enemy's only weakness is stealth attack, the fight can become extremely difficult. Several times I have encountered such enemies in quests where one simply can't go stealthily.

Also, please play it until you enter the epilogue, then stop playing. The epilogue is insanely long and not worth it at all.

Fun for a while until you realise the game is more about praying to RNGsus for good triggers than actual strategic planning. The game works fine until you get unlocks so the item pool becomes bloated with items that don't synergise well at all.

Nice game, but the world feels dead. In a game where most of what you do is travel, there is nothing you can do except for climbing and walking. It's also frustrating when there is a log in the way or whatever and you can't simply walk over it. Furthermore, the story lacks cohesion. Yes the voice acting and the conversations they have are executed really well, but everything happening in the story feels like separate independent events that add nothing. To me it feels like everything in the middle of the game could have been cut out without affecting the story at all. What was the point of all these mysterious events when they resolve themselves?
