Tight corridor blood pumping action stays fresh for the full 10 floor test of might.

CRUEL provides a fair challenge that didn't push me into using some cheap strat or certain build to succeed. The game can play fast at times, but you have a lot of control over how quick an engagement unfolds in most scenarios. That added control allows for a great flow of hectic moments and calmer precision aiming, all while death creeps in behind you.

Had a blast going through the gauntlet. Music and the old school mortal kombat-like screams enemies would shriek after being kicked out a window were perfect. Planning on going back in to experience the rest first-hand. Good job.

First challenging platforming game where it was enjoyable enough that I wanted to finish it.

Time to get to the top can take around an few hours on your first play, which is near perfect. Potential pitfalls across the journey allow you to lose some progress, but everything is encapsulated in it's own portion, so no major progress loss. While some sections have huge vertical distances to conquer the time to reach their peak is relatively quick thanks to objects in the environment that will launch/fling you at great speeds.

Get to Work evolves over time with new challenges, but never over punishes for the learning process. Those wanting a greater challenge can take on the speedrun acheivements and uncoverable secrets.

Waiting a bit to play this one gave me one of the best experiences I've had in an arena FPS title. It focuses on being fun from the moment you press play, even the tutorial is enjoyable because it doesn't feel like a tutorial.

So much fat has been trimmed to keep the enjoyment at a constant high. Weapons reload themselves when not being used, falling off of a floating island just respawns you, being eliminated instantly resets the active challenge without a game over screen, and platforming is incredibly easy with this level of air control, multiple jumps, and grapple hooks.

The game continuously awards you with upgrades, perks, and weapons for your actions, all of which flow naturally. There's never a "get 100 headshots" or "eliminate 75 elite enemies" to gatekeep something that might be cool. You just play this game how you, the player, see fit and get more powerful.

Overall Echo Point Nova plays like a game that wants you to have a blast the whole time. It provides that experience hopefully with its default settings, and goes a step further to ensure it with a large accessibility menu to help provide that same experience for all types of players. This game certainly deserves its high praise.

Well crafted compact point and click horror game. As the store page declares I was able to complete the game in about 90 minutes, with additional difficulties (monster and puzzle) unlocking after the credits rolled.

After enjoying the demo I was interested in picking up the full game, but was on the fence if the later level's puzzles would ramp up too much in difficulty and sour the experience. Thankfully they did not, and even as someone who isn't the strongest slide puzzle solver everything was manageable while also keeping the monster at bay. In total I died twice, once on each level and both deaths were on me.

My recommendation would be to try the demo and if you're interested in another level with more puzzles and mechanics to tackle then purchase the game.

Great 1v1 fun spread across a diverse map pool with weapons of all types (realistic, sci-fi, and strange abominations). Play through quick rounds that induce the age old "last one I promise" as you settle the score between you and a friend.

Decent challenge with easy to follow mechanics. Does a great job at maintaining a level of tension, but doesn't exhaust you with a long playthrough.

Had a fun time playing through this one and it exceeded my expectations.

Great solo/co-op horror game that pushes for your eventual success. There's a fair challenge here, however game offers tips, lets you build up more currency for upgrades between deaths, and you're able to endlessly retry the level you failed on with no repercussions. There is still some learning to get the swing of things, but the true test is how you'll be able to juggle everything that's thrown your way AND stay alive. This system does an excellent job at mitigating your frustration with the game and lets you take it out on your co-op partner.

Solo and Co-op options are notably different experiences, both with their own sets of challenges to overcome. Co-op has each player relying on the other to get through the day, but death of one doesn't mean it's impossible for your still living counterpart to cross the finish line.

While the game is certainly challenging there are two difficulty options, one of which adapts to your successes/failures. Creating a custom difficulty that will temporarily make the game easier for a single day if you've failed before, then shift back to the fixed difficulty after you've won. The other difficulty option stays fixed and scales upwards as the days go on.

The solo demo had a ton of content, which continued to build upon itself over each of the 7 separate nights. There's plenty to enjoy and get you hands on, with a solid challenge that is carefully revealed. The focus is on fun and gameplay that builds at a linear pace, but no two playthroughs are the exact same. DEATH IN UNISON uses a system that helps you learn from your loss so you're never stuck on any one level for too long.

Co-op is likely going to be the better experience of the two options, though playing this solo demo will serve as a great way to lead your two person team to survive CORTON ISLAND for the full 10 night experience. There's rumors a co-op demo playtest is coming soon with again most of the game available to try, so keep an eye out.

Free version opens up the doors to normal dungeons with strict gear limitations and that's likely all I would pick if I paid for the full version. Not having to spend time kitting out an optimal build, sourcing items from vendors, player trades, and your own stash keeps the majority of time spent playing the game rather than managing your inventory. Using your starting gear is perfectly fine or converting some of that gold into additional common weapons, consumables, and armor gives some extra wiggle room for mistakes.

Limiting created characters for the free tier makes sense and that's likely what will end up persuading me into purchasing. Until then its core loop of seeing how you'll fare in the dungeon where extracting with the loot doesn't really matter will be right up my alley.

Twisted reality holds you captive until the goals are met, but winning derives more questions. The rules are simple Over/Under, but an added "Make your own luck" switch keeps things from relying entirely on the luck gods above. Quickly the finish line can be crossed, but greater challenges await.

Played through easy, normal, and hard modes and got quite lucky. The difficulties serve as good stepping stones for one another.

FLATHEAD hints at something being unlocked once you collect a number of audio logs, 1-2 are given on completion, though there are many and regardless of your selected difficulty the reward is the same. Wanting to see what lies behind that objective I've blasted through a couple of easy trials, but the wins are shallow and grindy feeling. Looking at my shelf I'd need to complete another 8-10 runs, but that's just a bit too much for me.

Regardless of trying to see everything FLATHEAD has to offer it's certainly provided me plenty of entertainment as an experience. The visuals, sound design, and level of detail for a small project deserve to be commended.
