Rollerdrome's intense high flying action acid drops you into one hell of an experience. The game makes quick work to catch up you up to speed and send you down a mega ramp to the future that is 2030. Once I made to the third level I was hooked. Mechanics were starting click and managing combat and style together was producing a very enjoyable experience.

There's something inherently cool about doing a 540 backflip as you fire slugs from your shotgun. The slo-mo (reflex) makes all of this possible without much effort needed. While it is beneficial to land on your feet, if you don't your senses kick in and you roll to avoid a nasty slam. This keeps the danger side of things for the enemies to handle.

I played through the main story once, going through each level at least twice to check off challenges and unlock the next stage. This pacing was near perfect for me, not too long, not too short, just right. In the later levels difficulty ramps up to a challenging degree, keeping gameplay interesting and rewarding.

Upon completion of the main story a harder difficulty is unlocked. I've only played through the first level on "hard" and boy is it intense.

I'm no THPS fanatic, but I loved this game from start to finish.

My IGN Score: 8.3/10

Point and click movement creates great tension as you run and hide from the looming threat in An Uninvited Guest. The countdown from the start embeds panic as you frantically click to move around the house. Then the sounds of the threat revitalize that fear once inside. After a couple hours in I got a good grasp on the game and began crossing off the different endings. At 8hrs I've done everything there is to do in An Uninvited Guest currently, though a modular challenge mode is on the way to add a little more replayability.

It did take me sometime to get the hang of avoiding the intruder, though when I did I felt pretty powerful. There's survival tips on the main menu that do help, though learning in-game of what you can/cannot get away with was necessary for me to progress. Initially I was over cautious and that lead to me dying over and over. The game is forgiving, but won't let you walk all over it.

Each run takes around 10mins to complete, either you'll be dead or on your way out the door to safety by that time. Multiple paths to survival encourage additional playthroughs and hints are revealed after each attempt to help guide you to achieving them.

Tried out the demo and was sold. Game plays so smooth, provides a true challenge on hard, and has plenty of replayability built into the game (horde mode, randomizer, weapon unlocks).

Took my time through hard mode dying a bunch, trying to ration my ammo like you would in RE. Time was clearly spent to pace out each section of the game. Just when I was sure it was over for me, a careful maneuver down a hallway and hidden box of shells in the corner would be just enough to get through the horror that laid ahead. Wasn't a one time thing either, this expertly crafted moment happened a few times.

Had a blast playing through the game and look forward to giving some of the other modes a try. Definitely recommend to anyone who's a fan of the RE series.

Expanding on the Poppy Playtime universe everything has had more work put into it, voice acting, characters, puzzles, visuals, etc.

Like the first chapter it's a linear experience, so watching someone else playthrough the game will take away the surprises which make it enjoyable. Playtime to complete chapter 2 was about two hours. In that two hour period I never felt like the game was dragging along, nor was I stuck at any one section for a stretch of time.

Exploring more of the Playtime Co. factory was fun, there was a good variety of locations that each had their own unique elements. The interactive games in this chapter were a great way to add threats to the story. While the games were easy a good level of stress was created, which had me feeling like death was on my heels.

I wasn't pleased to find out that chapter one is now free and previous users who've purchased it received no form of discount on the new chapter as a token of appreciation for supporting the project. I hope MOB Games can right this wrong with the next chapter installment.

For gameplay everything worked well, apart from a few cases where the grab-pack had trouble grabbing and pulling me across gaps/up. A couple deaths to this mechanic wasn't the worst thing, but it made for what could've been a smooth chase/puzzle slightly clunky.

It saddens me to say I cannot recommend Johnny Boy Red Moon's Kiss (JBRMK).

JBRMK totes the line almost perfectly for my patience. The game wasn't too enjoyable at the end but things were moving along at a pace that kept me playing.

JBRMK leaves more to be desired and with the planned DLC 1, 2, & 3; their powers combined, coupled with more polished mechanics will create an even stronger JBRMK. With the slated DLCs in the works the story is incomplete and confusing at this point. The player is left on a cliffhanger at the end of episode 1, which was kind of expected.

The recurring bit where almost all dialogue trees lead to hand to hand combat was humourous and I enjoyed that very much. A little upgrade to the combat system would be appreciated if it's going to continue to be a recurring feature. Could be a dodge, dash, counterpunch, etc. just something to spice it up.

The VO work is exactly what I was looking for with JBRMK, definitely came in second behind the post dialogue combat.

For the future episodes I'd like to see player choice have more of a role. It appeared like there was a system in place to judge my choices ("That annoyed Jimmy", "Sarah didn't appreciate that"), but all paths seemed to lead to the same conclusion.

I look forward to the future of JBRMK and commend Solocub Entertainment for creating their first Steam release.

With the truckload of hours I have it would be disingenuous to say I didn't have any fun. The choice to not recommend this game comes from how non-new player friendly the game is.

Both survivors and killers have perks, which make the game more fun. Perks are locked behind a grueling grind that reveals unlockable content randomly. A partial way around this random grind is through purchasing content, but even then character specific perks are locked until you reach level 40 with them (~12hrs). After which you need to get lucky enough to see those perks in another survivor/killer's unlock tree. Perks are a key part to your success in-game and playing without them puts you at a serious handicap, even more so if you're new to the game.

Perks aside, I still get matched with new players on both sides (survivor and killer), but also get matched with players who've owned the game since 2016. There are some tells in the pregame lobby as to what's in store for you, but the fluctuation in difficulty between matches is a rollercoaster. In matches where you decimate the competition you're left wondering if you just accomplished something or if you were matched with new player(s) who decided to try the game out on Xbox Game Pass. Getting handed "free" wins doesn't feel good as a consolation prize, especially when the next game gets cranked to 11. There's only one mode to play and it's up to the game to decide what experience you deserve.

The future of this game as outlined by various Developer Q&A sessions continue to ignore prominent well reported issues. If you really feel the need to try it out, don't buy it test it on Game Pass or on the occasional free weekend, maybe you even grabbed it on Epic for free.

Inscryption was a great title to play through.

I thought I would get sucked into this game's story as I did with Pony Island and that was correct. Like any single player story-based game go in with as little knowledge beforehand for the best experience. Gameplay is challenging at times and one false step can lead to defeat. With that comes a even stronger urge to defeat what bested you before. Inscyption does this well with the puzzles scattered throughout the game as well as the created player knowledge after being defeated.

The game has some very interesting mechanics that as revealed continued to surprise me. While a card battler may not be the most interesting game to some, the mechanics involved and story open this game up to a wider audience.

Excellent game from start to finish.

Great short horror experience with more to come in the future.

Whole chapter start to finish was very enjoyable. Sound design is done well and coupled with the monster's lifelike animations make the horror much more real. Puzzles were simple, but engaging with the Grabpack.

I'm looking forward to the new chapters when they're released and curious as to where the story goes from here.

I had a great time playing through the campaign and up to level 50 in firefight on the second hardest difficulty. Initial feelings were definitely more harsh before I disabled most of the HUD elements as well as the prompts and notifications that popup in-game.

Severed Steel has plenty of information on the HUD, as well as in-game feedback for kills, combos, alerts to empty guns, prompt when inside kick range, and more. All of which cluttered the game too much for me, attempting to playthrough like this made the game much more difficult to see enemies and navigate around the areas. Regardless if you're playing casually or on one of the harder difficulty settings I would recommend turning off some of the HUD elements as well as the notifications, prompts. It won't take much to play without them, just run, dive, shoot, pick up a new gun and repeat.

Skipping over the beginning of the game when I had all the HUD elements turned on (Chapters 1 & 2). Chapter 3 was great, but Chapter 4 had by far the most fun levels out of the entire game. Chapter 5 is pretty fun with the exception of the boss level. Chapter 6 has some decent levels, with the exception of Estate.

After completing the campaign, firefight mode was equally fun to playthrough unlocking , new starter weapons, and mutators.

Severed Steel appealed to me as a fun arena based shooter with slow mo and parkour like mobility, and to this effect it did exactly that.

Been following the devs behind this game for a few years now and got to know them well.

Protoball has come very far from the early pre-alpha stages where I started playing.

Gameplay is a fast paced low gravity team handball experience. Where team coordination, precise movement, and keen reflexes play a large role in your success.
Currently the game offers only a quick play matchmaking option, but skill based matchmaking is planned for the future.

Those interested in a more competitive setting can join the tournaments hosted by Protoball within the game (A tournament is planned to happen before the end of September).
While tournaments currently can only be hosted by the devs, the goal for the future is to extend that ability to all players.

I'm not a big fan of sports video games, if anything I preferred the over the top games like NFL/NBA Street where you could wall run, and had a combo point counter for style.
Protoball sort of has that charm to me, where you can jump over people and launch into the air breaking necks as people look to the heavens for where you went. All The While the game can still be very competitive. When that clock counts down and there’s potential to win the game on a buzzerbeater goal everyone is dialed in trying to win.

I think Protoball has plenty to offer, learn the movement, grab mechanics, get comfortable shooting around in the practice arena, and then pop into a quick play game and score some goals.
