I put off writing a review for this game for a long time but with the release of Endwalker, and having gotten threw a good amount of it, I felt that I should. I will try to keep this short so it doesn't turn into an essay.

Story wise, it starts off a little rocky with A Realm Reborn but I encourage you to stick with it and keep pushing threw the base game. A lot of the foundation is setup here, introducing you to important characters and what not. Once you get into Heavensward, the story really picks up and the game does a really good job keeping that momentum going with Storm Blood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker. There is a ton of epic and emotional moments as you go threw the story, there was even parts in Shadowbringers and Endwalker where I cried. The game does a very good job making you care about the world and the characters you are interacting with.

Gameplay wise, combat is the classic tab target system with 20 diverse combat classes for you to chose from. You will start off with a limited selection at first but, as you progress threw the game you'll be able to unlock all of them. No alts required either! You can level every class on one character and switch freely between all of them. The dungeons/trials are all unique to each other as well. Each dungeon has different objectives and mechanics you will have to deal with to progress threw them. They will increase in difficulty/complexity as you get into the higher level dungeons as well. If that's not enough of a challenge for you, you can unlock Extreme/Savage difficulty modes of trials/raids you've already done to get cool gear and mounts.

Lastly, I want to wrap things up by mentioning a few more things before this gets too long. There is a lot of side content to unlock and experience. If you're into Crafting and gathering, there is entire quest chains revolving around those classes. Player housing is really nice in this game, though currently there just isn't enough plots for everyone. That should be getting addressed soon however.

I've been playing this game for about 3 years and I am really glad I chose to. Prior to this game, other MMO I have played fell victim to greedy devs or just got stale and failed to hold my interest. This is the first MMO I've played where the community is genuinely amazing and even the devs genuinely care about the players and engage in our memery (Masayoshi Soken - LAHEE is a good example). Whether or not you are a new player or a vet to MMOs and you are looking for a game to stick with, I recommend this over every single MMO listed on Steam as of December 2021.
