A great simulation, really creative execution of what it is to be an alchemist and make potions.

Some constructive ideas, It would be cool if more of the potions had actual effects in game, like using the explosion potion to mass harvest the crystals in the crystal cave, using a charm potion for yourself in the morning to get better deals, maybe make haggling easier (widening the bars perhaps?, an automatic success for haggling once per day?), using a fragrance potion to make a shop smell nicer and give you better reputation gain.

only other main criticism is that the game lacks much in the way of a story, your progression as an alchemist is the driving mechanic of the game, discovering new potions and crafting them for customers, saving them and building up your garden.

The customers and the characters that you interact with aren't really all that interesting, they ask for things and you make them, with no particular change or progression with them. It would be great if you could actually befriend and increase relationships with the customers, romance options for some of the merchants (heck all of them, too each their own.). Just something that shows continuity and creates a connection to the customers.

You could convince me that this was a very elaborate Skyrim mod, in all of the good ways. I am not far into the game but am enjoying it so far!

Lots of people came into this one years after finishing the base game, never having played a Fromsoft DLC before.

THEY ARE HARD.

Every single one of them is demonstrably harder than their base game.

I hope those people are able to push through and play the DLC, as it is AMAZING!

A Solid experience, not a long one, but a fun one.

This game has an amazing story and fantastic characters, it will make you think and treat you like an intellengent human being, these are things that all games should do and this game does it well. I see no reason to not buy this game if you like a story that will blow you away, but if you want the most solid and great shooter with it, sorry this doesnt get there, you will enjoy it, but dont play in hard, it is too punishing and it will make you enjoy the story much less. but all out a great game, buy it for the story.
