It's cool for the atmosphere. Overly complicated controls, gimmicky 1 hit kills and rediculous bosses make this a hard pass. Being brutally hard doesn't always mean being fun, and more developers need to understand this.

I don't recommend this game for many of the reasons others have pointed out. While I did enjoy some of my time with it (mostly the online component, when I could find a match), I was left with feeling that they took parts of Dark Souls then tacked on some additional parts that do not fit very well. The game does not feel fluid, and many of the components do not fit well together. Add to that the cheap one shot enemies who can ignore basic game restrictions (why do enemies have a stamina bar if they can use abilities when they are completely out of stamina?) and boss battles that are frustratingly difficult. I won't get started on the overabundance of loot or the menus, I feel that they are a mess.

On top of all of this, this is a console port (released in Feb '17 on PS4) that they are selling for $50.

My opinion is they wanted to make a game that is hard just to be hard. Well, they did it, and the results are not very good.
