The core game is fun and there is a solid foundation to continue building on.

While the game is not perfect, it has significantly improved since original review.
Performance is better, although I think it could need a few more tweaks.
Microtransactions is the same as it used to be, but they have added crafting and improved upon vendor availability. And resources are shared now between characters.

However, I can not recommend it due to poor performance, FOMO and MTX shenanigans, some lacking QoL, and lacking features.

*Poor performance. I can run it reasonably well, but with a 3080 I'd expect to play it at higher settings at 60 fps at least. Add in that it frequently CTDs at the beginning of a mission. A part of me wonders if they did not bother with optimization and instead thinking DLSS/FSR could brute force any performance issues.

*FOMO & MTX: Oh boy. There is a cash shop, but no crafting. Cash shop has items available that are either "buy now or lose forever" or most likely, on a rotation. Unlike Vermintide 2 (VT2) you can not buy any MTX directly with money, you have to buy Aquila premium currency which of course is in packs that are either less or more than what the items cost, leaving you with spare currency, or having to buy extra.
On a sidenote, there is no private lobby as there was in VT2, instead it is filled with random players. Tinfoil hat says this is to entice players to buy cosmetics, if they see other players with store-bought cosmetics.
Another tinfoil hat theory is that since there are 5 character slots, but only 4 characters, future subclasses will require character slots...which will be monetized.

*Unlike VT2, the resources between characters is not shared and neither are weapons (where applicable).
*No crafting system similar to VT2 either so you have to rely on a hourly-changing selection of random weapons and curios from the Peddler.
*Weekly contracts are not account-shared and are currently BROKEN.
*Other minor QoL features.

All in all the game is fun, but there is just so much around the core gameplay that is meh or predatory. If you enjoy 40K then it can be easier to ignore the other issues, as if this was not a 40K game, I'd most likely not buy it at launch.
