First impressions!
It feels like a soft reboot of the franchise. The types of comedy are a lot more toned down and well spaced, it doesn't feel like every character is trying to crack a joke every sentence. The characters seem more grounded and more intricately written, something most noticeable after playing Borderlands 3. The gameplay feels very solid minus the optimization issues.

On that note, I started off pretty rough before downloading my NVIDIA drivers. After that, I can generally get 55-60 FPS on low settings with dips of framerate when I drive to new sections of the world. For specs, I got an RTX 3060, 32gb of RAM, and an Intel I9 10900F. I just hope some optimization updates are on the way, I would very much like more frames please!

If you got the specs to run it, I think it's a great game to get from so far I've played. Shout out to my fellow LORDS OF GAMING for the epic birthday gift <3

The gunplay is nothing short of fantastic, and the ambiance is so very tense! The campaign has a lot of promise as well. However, that's all I have positive to say.
The level design can be very cryptic, and I got physically stuck/softlocked a couple of times requiring me to restart the game. The second chapter of Area 12 is very confusing and unenjoyable, I had to watch a couple of YouTube walkthroughs to understand what I actually needed to do, since the hint system doesn't actually do anything besides highlight guns, grabbable items, and doors.

The SCPs are alright, but they are essentially all zombies minus the concrete guy. Everyone else just runs at you, with some being able to charge even faster at the cost of not being able to turn well. I was hoping to see a lot more SCPs honestly, but I didn't do any research of this game before buying it. The TV screen SCP is the worst. The human NPCs like D class and security are fun to play against at least, however I wish the wave-based gamemode would feature them more.

Not a lot of people play on multiplayer, but I was able to get into a couple of full servers. Co-op campaign is pretty fun but it seems no one likes to play the Area 12 campaign, which is what I wanted to do after completing the winter mission 3 times. I then tried the wave-based gamemode and found a server, but it is so painfully boring with only 1 map and no progression past round 20 something. It's just zombies, the chicken SCP, and the spider thing round after round after round, with only the human NPCs spawning twice in 50 rounds. The enemies aren't entirely pathed for the map so I found a spot where the AI is incapable to walking to, despite not having any obstacle to actually stop them from walking up to me. I could not find any PVP servers to play in at this time.

I would recommend waiting until there's a good amount of content and replayability here. The foundation is set, but needs a lot more ironing out and needs to flesh out more interesting SCPs to fight against that are fun.

This feels like a dream game come true - I love the casual and forgiving nature of the game, such as the focus on enemy bots only, infinite reserve ammo, or being given a small portion of your earnings if you die before extraction. I also love the heavy focus on gunplay and most importantly, the JAMMING mechanic that's tied to the frequency of shooting. The jamming mechanic adds a different level of depth to gunfights, making me determine if I can take out multiple enemies in enough shots before jamming, or if I should wait until one party eliminates the other to reduce the amount of shots I need to take. The tactical decision making process changes in this game for me, and I am honestly surprised I keep wanting to come back to this game for how small this game is. If the devs are already done with this game, I hope the developers make a sequel of this and expand on what makes this game unique to the other extraction/tactical shooters. I WANT MORE please

Cool game. Wish it had more puzzles or something. I didn't learn anything about this game beyond watching the demo on YouTube, so I guess this game is most enjoyable going in 100% blind.

I wish the pricetag wasn't so high, but I never took the chance to play this on my PS3 before my console went kaput. Not buying another Playstation just to play one game, so this is a better alternative. Loving the game so far, and I really look forward to Undead Nightmare once I complete the main storyline.

Gameplay and everything is fine, but there were some missions that were flat out boring. As a person with zero knowledge of the Warhammer universe I feel that most of the pivotal moments in the campaign didn't hit me like they were intended to. I guess this is a game you already need to have some knowledge about to get the most enjoyment from it.

Regardless it is still a well made game with plenty of visual spectacles like the massive alien hordes.

Well, I WAS excited for the H2M mod. Thank goodness the greedy hands of Activision stopped us from having fun! Never buying another Activision product again!

If you're a zombie game enthusiast, Dead Island 2 is the zombiest zombie game to exist. It refines all aspects that are expected of a zombie experience and puts it together in a cohesive package. It does not excel in any branch besides its JUICY gore system, and doesn't introduce any unique angle on the zombie genre. If you're looking for a new interpretation of the zombie game, you won't find it here.

Writing and the story are lacking and pretty cheesy, but it doesn't go into Borderlands 3 territory. Characters are okay at best, but they aren't insufferable.

Overall rating 6.5/10
