Early Access Review
5 minutes into the tutorial, finding a dead rat under the sink with the descriptors (Rotten) and (Uncooked) and then being forced to eat it to progress, you realize what kind of game you're getting into very quickly.

This game is a love letter to the zombie sub-genre of horror. It's an incredible sandbox with all the tools you need to craft YOUR idea of a zombie apocalypse, from the speed and intelligence of the zombies to the quality of loot you can forage to how long it will take for the power grid to fail and the tap to run out. Live on the move, scavenging what supplies you can along the way, or settle into a base, build defenses, and start farming crops.

It has some tedious hiccups that come with many roguelikes, though it's nothing mods can't fix. Especially now with the release of Build 42 and the massive surge of content that's come with it, I can't recommend this game enough

A certain merchant of Yiddish descent informed me of this game, and although I was worried it would be too complicated for me to get into, I actually got grasped it pretty easily after about an hour. Path of Achra is indeed a kiddie pool that you drown in, because I still don't know what I'm doing after 17 hours of gameplay, and I love it.

I'm a big TW fan and a Warhammer fan, so after putting over a thousand hours into Shogun 2, I thought this would be a good game to pick up while on sale. Then when I began a campaign it showed that more than 3/4s of the total playable factions are locked behind paywalls.
I play Stellaris, so I figure, "having factions be DLC isn't the craziest thing ever, especially for a game you can play for so many hours."
Then I realized some of these factions require you to own TW: WH 1&2 (both of which are still priced at 60 dollars at the time of this review, btw).
Buying an entire game I'll never play just to have all the playable factions in this game is absurd, and after reading other reviews of people having similar thoughts and bringing to light some comments Creative Assembly's PR team made about their fanbase, I'm returning this game. Maybe when CA decides to treat their customers like people instead of walking piggy banks, I'll pick this game up again. Not likely that's going to happen any time soon, though.

Whether you've played dwarf fortress for years or are just getting into it, if you have doubts about steam's release of dwarf fortress and don't like it, download the free version from Tarn Adam's website first to fully appreciate it. A few benefits from the top of my head:
-Improved UI
-Improved world generation load time
-You can use your mouse in this version of the game (like a normal human being using a computer after 1998)
-Improved graphics in both the regular game AND the world map

Some people are describing the steam release as a premium upgrade and I 100% agree as well as support it. Buy it now or you are a stinky goblin in a hole.
10/10
