Hanger 13 knocked it OUT OF THE PARK. I made so much fun of Mafia 3 despite some of it's novel ideas and writing, it was just a GTA clone (ironic considering Mafia 1 pioneered this) that was half-baked and the game was an utter disappointment in everyway and I thought the series was doomed.

This game is a complete reimagining of the series and structure. I think old fans and new comers will be pleased and I'm extremely pleased at the price point this day in age.

Like all of the Mafia games, the story follows a very unusual and seldomly seen timeline and setting seen in games and it's frankly a breath of fresh air. It feels almost like living a Godfather movie you wish came out. There are sections of course with the typical Hanger 13 repetition if you are a fan of Mafia games, but these are very niche games and I kinda like it at this point. They don't overstay their welcome.

Spoiler: THERE IS THE RACE, YES REALLY I'M NOT KIDDING, AGAIN.

If you're on the fence wait for a sale, but honestly this is the best mafia they have done since 2 by FAR. The passion is back and it shows. I just love to play games where it's clear the devs and writers clearly love what they are doing and it's a joy to play everytime.

Visually/conceptually/sound wise I love what is here. But it's extremely rough.

I would totally play something like this with a lot more polish. Love the minimal/abstract idea.

Merzbow: The Game.

ATLUS knocked this out of the park. It's the same formula you all know, but the story and angle is VASTLY different from Persona. I found this game to be even more interesting than P5 and more engaging.

The music is on another level, just buy this when it's on sale, you will not regret it.

Warhorse knocks it out of the park again.
Inspired quests, memorable characters, incredible cinematics, and outstanding story.

Unlike KCD which had major issues and ran horribly at launch and took a year to fix, they learned their lesson and this is nearly a flawless launch. Just buy it.

I thought this game was some kind of novelty joke.
Then it became absolutely hilarious.
Then I started to fall into intense late 90's early 00's web nostalgia.
I was not ready for how heavy this gets and the depth. This game is an absolute masterpiece BWLLLL.

Boy wouldn't it be funny if I played this? Yeah, it sure would have been.

I'm not even into this type numbers game, but the game is FAR too cute and well done not to keep at it.
Bravo to Alblune on the work so far! Been a joy watching this come to life this year.

I LOVE the animations.
I generally liked the cinematics.
The gunplay is actually quite nice.
The voice acting is pretty good.
Level design and decor is just fine.
It's EASY to pick up and play and actually kinda fun.
So what's the problem?

The character designs and costumes are for the lack of a better word amateur. They are MOSTLY bland and not distinctive enough, let alone iconic and pop. There are very few ways and different modes to actually play the game.It's overall actually very shallow in depth and story...maybe this is to be expected from season 0 of a new game like this, but everyone expects more these days.

You can bind the arrow keys to whatever you want, but for some bizarre reason, they are HARD BOUND to just "looking". Crouch/sprint are toggle only with no options. PC players were clearly an afterthought.

The nail in the coffin? There were 100 Steam players on today and I tried matchmaking in two different modes at noon only to get timed out at 10mins. Once crossplay is on, you can get a match easy. So the only way you are going to play the game for the entire future is with PS5 players, which is fine, but not what we want. All in all I just feel bad for the hard working devs at Firewalk. I believe this project was GROSSLY mismanaged and I think most of the devs knew what was going to happen.

IT-Z is kinda cute though :)
