While the quirky retro style is fun, the game play loop is basically non-existent, the variety is next to nothing; choices don't really make much of a difference to the game play style, and even the maps are not that varied. Just pop it on the highest difficulty you can (Mythic I, you have to defeat that in order to access higher which is kinda lame on its own), and play through it once after you bought it for maybe 10 bucks on some steam sale. It's just not that satisfying to play over and over.

Hi! Today, we released MythForce 1.2, our most ambitious and content-rich update yet, which is available for free. Driven by player feedback and filled with new features and gameplay improvements, this update fully powers up MythForce to its ultimate form.

With full character customization, a revamped encounter system, and dynamic elemental combat, we hope now the game makes every run feel brand new, whether you're venturing alone or teaming up with friends.

There is also a free demo on Steam.
