New Edit: I'm not gonna lie, the whole "not enough content" thing has just gotten worse with time. The game costs too much for how little content there is in it. There's just over 10 missions if I remember correctly. And, while they're all handcrafted, that's, if we're being honest, not good enough if the ONLY PVE content outside of campaign is just those same 12 missions over and over.

You will have to grind these repetitive missions A LOT in order to slowly level up your PVE characters. It's really such a shame. By the way, in the 40 hours I've played, I have only managed to max out ONE PVE CHARACTER! It's THAT bad. Could I have leveled him up a bit faster? Yeah probably. Would it have made a huge difference? I doubt it.

The devs have said that the way the game was coded unfortunately does not allow them to add any kind of procedurally generated missions, neither in pre-launch development or down the line as a DLC. This was a major blunder in my honest opinion as, the handcrafted missions take months to be released in very small amounts and, get old very quickly since the only variation in each attempt at a mission is what enemies spawn and where exactly they spawn.

The DLC is total slop. Overpriced outfits that are each locked to an individual class and still to this day are not allowed to be used only partially (like only using an outfit's helmet rather than equipping the entire outfit) and like I said, are LOCKED to their specific class.

They're already working on Space Marine 3 which is a bit concerning because Space Marine 2 still feels like it needs a lot more content.

The gameplay is cool and all but the guns can feel a bit weak in my experience and the melee combat can feel a bit clunky sometimes with how long some animations are and your forced commitment to many of them, if I remember correctly.

So, to be dead honest, after the honeymoon stage of this game's launch, I DO NOT recommend it. I'd say it's worth it if it's 50% off or better.
A painfully honest, strong 6/10 or soft 7/10.

At launch I hoped lots of more content would be added over time, and the rough edges would be smoothed out. I was wrong, the improvement is too few and far between to justify the price tag.
Hopefully Space Marine 3 will lock in.

Old Launch Review:
Even in it's launch state, I do recommend it. My only real complaint is that there's not enough content.

The gameplay is pretty nice. Good gun combat, and even better melee combat.

The campaign is under 10 hours long. It's story is apparently pretty goofy according to warhammer fans. But, since I'm clueless about the lore, the lore inaccurate parts of the story just flew over my head.

The side operations are nice. But, there's only 6.
The PvP, even though noticeably underbaked, is still very enjoyable.
In total there's probably like 16 hours of non PvP content in the game right now.

This scratches the itch that helldivers' fall from grace left me with. The price made me wince a bit, but I think it was worth it. Especially if the game goes on sale, there's no doubt in my mind that it's worth your money.

Like I said at the start of the review, my only real complaint is that I just wish there was more content.
8/10
