Really very more-ish and tactical card battler with a Car Wars theme.

12 hours of exploring in and I'm still having a pretty good time. Lots of exploration to do in a fun environment with plenty of puzzles.

Come on down to space West Virginia to slice up ship hulks and relax with securing salvage without dying so much you lose money. Debt? Yep, you are super broke and working for the company. Don't worry about it, just enjoy cutting and depositing salvage, it will work out.

Are you a fan of the original game? You'll probably want to play this. But be careful progressing the main quest line, this unlocks a lot of difficulty.

A well tuned game of several strategies. Really is very different every time you play.

If you are a fan of the tabletop, I'd recommend this game. I've been playing Battletech in it's various forms since the 80's when I was 10 and I got the original box set with cardboard Robotech looking pieces. The campaign is good, the career mode is good, and the tactical play is satisfying. It is not pure tabletop, more of a fun variant but you can go find mods...

Quite an engaging clicker. Very addictive, has ongoing unlocks for characters and equipment sets.

An instant classic in the management/builder genre. Build a prison and manage the prisoners, make more money and expand the prison. Sounds really simple and it is, in a way. But it is also very very complex and a lot of emergent gameplay is to be had. Well worth it for those who like running little empires.

Literally about as close as you can get to an acessable Dwarf Fortress. If that doesn't get your attention then let me expand upon that statement: this is a game of survival. With the new scenario system you have many options to set the starting parameters but what this game is really about is surviving in a colony that you have made from scratch. You will manage your colonists to gather materials, construct structures and furniture, defend your base, farm and hunt food and research. How will you do this? You often will not; you will fail and it will be fun. But when you do and manage to not only survive but thrive the sense of accomplishment is strong. Check out videos if you are still wondering if this is for you but this is one of my favourite games and it isn't even finished.

Now in beta with more biomes, more interactions and more things. Plus, hugely moddable.

Automatatron was short (no more than 10 hours) but enjoyable, Far Harbor is easily 30 hours and better. Contraptions and the Wasteland Workshop are gravy. I'm not unhappy I bought the pass at $30 when i had the chance. At $50, you may want to see what Nuka World looks like before you buy or just get the DLC you want - various pieces are/were discounted during the Summer Sale (2016) and I expect they will be on sale again in the winter sale. That or wait for the inevitable GOTY edition.
