This is not your typical farming sim game and is very narrative heavy and character driven. If your expectations are in the wrong place you may be disappointed, but personally I'm blown away by what i've seen so far. Davey Wreden has a way of hitting a deep emotional core with his writing and game structure and he has certainly hit it again with Wanderstop.

This is a game that will stick with me for years. It has charm, it has style, it's got 50 games that are far too good for the price and the package, and it blew me away at every turn. If you like arcade, or old-school style console games this is a no brainer, and even if you don't you should absolutely give it a try. My game of the year 2024 bar none, Mossmouth does it again.

Excellent roguelike that values teaching the player it's mechanics before throwing them in the deep end. Taking notes from Slay the Spire and games before it, it manages to create a unique and interesting combat system with plenty of depth and strategy despite being based around dice. I have a million other good things to say about the game and very little bad to say, so I'll just say instead that you should absolutely give this game a shot.

I bought the game at launch not being super excited for it, but interested in it. Needless to say I was pretty underwhelmed but I liked the world that the game was trying to build, and could see some potential. No one could've guessed just how far the game would come since then though. It's so interesting playing the game now and seeing the remnants of what it was like on launch and how the original soul of the game is still there but massively improved in every way. The Hello Games team has done a tremendous job making this game more than worth the original $60 buy in and even though I think steam refund didn't exist back then, I'm glad I never tried to refund it. Truly a one of a kind game.

Very solid roguelike deckbuilder. I've been playing since almost day 1 and have seen all the iterations and balance changes and the game is in a great place. It's challenging, has interesting mechanics, great art and music, and plenty of unlocks and progression. Would love to see it get an expansion or a sequel in the future!

This game's visual style and complexity will most certainly be a barrier for a lot of people, but I promise you it all comes together perfectly once you give it the time it needs. It's difficult, engaging, horrifying, hilarious, and has become one of my favorite games of all time over time. I don't think I'll ever explore all it has to offer because there is just so so much of it. This game demands that you play by it's rules, and I can't recommend enough that you step into the arena and take it on full force.

Haven't even closed on the credits yet 30ish hours in (i'm trying to do absolutely everything), but I must say the game is incredible. Creative and satisfying combat, interesting world to explore, unique game design choices, and multiple ways to approach every interaction. The performance absolutely needs to be patch fixed, but the game is certainly not "unplayable" on middle of the road hardware as some would have you believe. There are also some weird quest bugs or jank here and there but nothing that can't be fixed or ignored in my experience. If you care about out of game one time purchase microtransactions enough to give the game a performative downvote, then the game was never for you and your opinion was always worthless.

Tldr; If you like open world action RPGs that let you play how you want, then this is up there with the best. Just be wary of what your PC can handle and be prepared to tweak the settings a lot until they patch fix the performance.

Game is very barebones and feels like a demo going into a hunt was very confusing and reading the multiple pages of the journal did not help. Having all the tools at once is an interesting concept but executed poorly since the menu is janky. Not worth the time and there are a million other better games out there.
