I love souls-likes.
Another Crab's treasure has the core elements that From Soft introduced us to back in Demon's Souls down to a very respectable degree. I'm enjoying the story, characters, settings.
Parrying is satisfying, dodge rolls are responsive and the combat (aside from some occasional jank) is solid, and the boss fights are fantastic.I'm enjoying my time with this game a lot.
A few things really bother me though. Another crabs treasure has Scholar of The First Sin-Syndrome. Enemy placement seems almost random, adding big groups of enemies to create an artificial difficulty has made me put the controller down a couple of times in my relatively short play time so far.
The jank I mentioned earlier too, fighting with the camera is almost a staple of third-person action RPGs now however when it's an enemy flying 20 feet into the air, taking my camera to the moon, the humour can fade when I've been throwing myself at a boss for 15 minutes. Input reading ranged enemies littering what I would describe as arenas are also just incredibly frustrating. Every part of this game I've played so far feels like I'm running through Shrine of Armana.
Pick it up though, for sure.

Wonderful experience. I'll forever treasure this game, I was truly awakened. You CAN experience taste through video games. Insane breakthrough
