My Dearest Martha,

I need to tell you about my time in Final Fantasy XIV. At first it was enjoyable enough, lots of quests meeting various fantastical characters and bringing items from one person to another. I was having fun, but it was undeniably something I had done in many MMO games over the years. Over time though I became immersed in this fantasy world. I started to "get" what set this MMO above others. In a word, it's just fun.

This game is less worried about bringing people together to bang their heads against the walls of multiplayer content. It would rather tell a large sweeping story where your character is the protagonist and a story that can be enjoyed with others as well.

It was a slow start, but by the time I had made it to the first expansion I was hooked.

Oh and the dragons in it are way better than the dragons in ESO. That's just a fact.

I hope this letter finds you well Martha. I don't suspect I shall see Little Timmy, Sally, John, Leviticus, or yourself again. My fight is in Eorzea now, and I must needs remain here.
