This game, is a love letter to Ace Combat.

I've had intense fun playing this game, because of the enemy ace bosses, the Conquest Mode (QM) and the wonderful campaign and its host of badass and silly characters. I will be returning to this game a hell of a lot. Best part is, this is only the beginning. The single developer working this game, is currently working on patches, cleaning up minor inconveniences and issues mostly pertaining to QM and I think has plans to expand and grow this game further, though that may be years down the line.

But as it stands, this game is an absolute blast to play and experience.

The campaign. It has the feels of a classic Ace Combat story, with the whole pilot turns the tide of war. It has its wonks, but it mostly comes from one character toward the end. Other than that, it works out great and is an okay ace combat story.

The music is Ace Combat worthy, and it is a massive banger. That is all.
The community is also modding this game as well, so there's ace combat livery on planes already. Come join us, Ace Combat Veterans!

Also. You can drop nuclear bombs to protect your homeland. This last message was bought to you in part by the Principality of Belka. #neverforgetJune9th1995

All in all, what's not to love?

I bought this game, because I wanted to reach out and help. Because I didn't have anyone to talk to today.
I often don't get the chance to say anything meaningful. So this game is a godsend.

If you are looking for help, and looking to help, this game is it.
But this game is not a substitute to real professional help.

You are always enough, for love and acceptance.

You're gonna spend hours looking for that one wallpaper, that one that perfectly fits the mood.
There's a lot, but you never seem to find the right one.
You'll end up always settling for less.
And you'll find yourself doing this all over again in a few months.

I've been a fan of this product since it's original release of Universe Sandbox in 2012. It's been an incredible journey seeing this development team grow and the work to create this program has been immense and incredible.

While it's still a long way off from a true 1-to-1 representation of what a universe controlled by you would look like, this is as close as anything in the market will get.

All other space sims give you a static universe in which you can do minimal change to. You're meant to explore them.

This one, this one you're meant to CONTROL.

You sculpt the heavens themselves, or you tear them down. The billions of years of work vanished in just a couple clicks.

If you're looking to play God on a scale like no other, this would be the place to do it.

I highly recommend. Their work only becomes more and more fine-tuned, friends.
Soon, they'll have our universe's source code.

If you're looking for the aircraft arcade sim experience, this would be it.

It has absolutely incredible music. Awesome jam-packed missions. It's got everything a game really needs.
(except flight stick controller support) :/

The only gripe anyone who's brand new to the Ace Combat Series may find, is the story a bit confusing as it pulls references from the Ace Combat Franchise.

Before my purchase, I was had only played and known the story and lore of Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies.
After this, I was intently researching and discovering the stories of the rest of the Ace Combat Franchise to piece together the parts that I was unfamiliar with that Ace Combat 7 had touched and referenced on. However, I won't lie to you, as the storytelling was quite awkward at times and some loops never resolved.

Despite these shortcomings, the game is still satisfying to play.
Each mission is unique in its environment, its objectives and pacing.
The soundtrack is absolutely memorable. Each mission has its own feel and tension with the music involved.

This game was one of those hidden gems of 2019. Take a chance. Come fly, into that deep dark blue.

"Amidst the blue skies, a link from past to future.
The sheltering wings of the protector..."

While the infinite universe promises endless content, the truth is, we have the same stars with the same 8 hostile animals and the same NPCs, same 5 NPC quests on just about every star known in this infinite universe.

While it may have the far nicer looking decoration options, lighting engine on point, and a masterpiece in pixel art, and helps new players guide through and play this game, it lacks something vital, I can't seem to place it. I believe it's the whole issue of the magic of the infinite universe. It needs more uniqueness, more unique mobs only specifically found in these stars, in these worlds. While there is variety already, they certainly could use more excitement. With this bounty hunter update, they have missed out on a potential implementation for bosses that reside on these more difficult planets. There's also the options of randomized events on planets. Not just weather events, wars, bandit attacks and the like. It would liven the gameplay in between sessions of decorating your ship/upgrading your home or tackling the next quest.

The underground of each planet is not unique either, aside from the many underground biomes that exist, they all become the same. Every planet has a underground flesh biome, or the same ancient ruin made out of wood or stone.

TL;DR The magic of the infinite disappears after you explore +50 planets.

Otherwise, this is a good game to show off your interior decoration skills and flex your complex and tasteful skills with decoration.
So it's good.
