This is an okay game, not really bad or good. I feel like it COULD be fairly decent with a few tweaks, and it definitely has the foundation of a good game, but there's a few negatives bringing down the experience, and while it's not anything that'd make me say "wow this is awful," I probably won't pick this game back up.

Controls are clunky, especially since this game is banking on Armored Core nostalgia. If I'm moving with significant speed horizontally when I land, I expect to keep some of that momentum, not hard-impact the ground and get locked for a few seconds.

Combat is floaty and nothing works as expected. It's impossible to follow enemies, and actual lock-on like in ANY OTHER GAME is a part you can buy after completing mission 4... not the default part you start with, but an optional unlock. I actually bought the part, and in my next mission didn't notice any change, so either it doesn't do what it's supposed to or it didn't equip (which the game prompted me for upon purchase), both of which are major issues.

Part unlock is super grindy, and given how short each mission is this isn't necessarily bad, but it does mean you have to spend more time listening to the terrible character dialogue just to grab a part you missed

Writing in general is bland. As stated above, the characters make Kirito look like the best anime protag ever written, and the overall plot is just sort of there (not that I got super far into things)

The first boss doesn't really do anything. It's primarily melee with a few ranged attacks. You have zero reason to get in close, and it's pretty easy to dodge the missiles. I don't really understand why it's there since bosses are usually meant to be a skill check in these types of games, but once you deal enough damage it just cutscenes out to two other characters finishing it off in one blow, and later on everyone says YOU defeated it... just feels super out of place and unnecessary. I was hoping for White Glint and got lethargic Mad Stomp.

I'll be happy to write an actual review when Ubisoft bothers to make an actual working game. Doesn't detec my mic, doesn't detect the cable, and in-game support basically just says you can skip the tutorial. Once again, raising both middle fingers proud and high to say ♥♥♥♥ YOU UBISOFT!

As a lover of poker, this is an incredibly fun and addicting game, and a breath of fresh air compared to typical poker/blackjack. The concept is highly creative and has so far been enjoyable. As a "certified hater of everything," I'm elated to give this game my first positive review in quite a while, and one of very few ever.

Whoever came up with the tunnel mission has a special place in Hell reserved just for them. It'd be one thing if we had any checkpoints at all, but to not only have a stressful tight-quarters start followed up by an insane barrage of enemies after that you need to fight solo with every target being mandatory is down right stupid game design. My computer is powerful and I still suffered stuttering after exiting the tunnel, which combined with how dark everything is since there's no night vision means crashing is common.

Early Access Review
I don't want to give this game a bad review, the combat is decent, enemy variety definitely isn't lacking, and *the obvious* reason to like it... but the dungeons are awful slog-fests. I could accept it if there was one wave of enemies per room, I could accept it if the rooms were open and easy to kite enemies through, I could accept it if there were only a bunch of weak enemies or up to two powerful enemies at a time... but you don't get that, and instead have to fight 5+ enemies in close-quarters with a mix of strong and weak ON TOP of weird hit boxes and dash attacks, and don't even get me started on how much damage they soak up.

This is a fine game, and an amazing display from a solo dev, I just think the enemies need better balance and the dungeons need to be opened up a bit. Fix those and you've got an easy positive review.

putting a time limit on recollecting dropped currency is absolutely stupid given how difficult things already are

Seems like a fun game, but as a rule of thumb I don't support anything pushing politics, not to mention the slew of serious issues other players are reporting and the fact the social aspect of the game is practically broken.

Start of the game is mostly cut-scenes with terrible performance and very little gameplay, with lots of railroading to keep the story on track. Tons of red flags, and I'm not going to go over my two hour refund period just to find out the game's ♥♥♥♥.

I'd like to begin by stating that, as a solo project, this is good... for a starting point. That said, the Dev isn't treating it as a base to build off of, but rather a complete game. The current version as of writing this is 1.6xx, meaning it's intended to be basically as good as it'll ever get beyond minimal tweaks. It's an okay game, don't get me wrong, but there's A LOT of not-insignificant parts that could use a drastic overhaul, including enemy AI, mission types, mech customization, balancing across the board, graphics and animations, etc etc etc. It's okay to know your limitations, but if I were in charge I wouldn't be happy with marketing this as the final product and would ABSOLUTELY be seeking outside talent to help polish everything. I'd honestly love to see this dev and the team behind Gearbits get together since this game has what I felt the other lacks and vice-versa.

UPDATE- Mission 12 straight up has NO respect for the player. The sheer amount of enemies is ungodly, the amount of places they spawn from and how they're scattered around the map is unjustifiable, and the allies you're given can't even handle the fodder without you holding their hands while ALSO trying to juggle the absolutely stupid amount of actually difficult enemies. There's no reason for this mission to be this difficult, and the attempt at rationalization by the game of "you're holding back the entire enemy army while our allies set up defenses, here have a few tanks and 2 extremely under-equipped mechs, and if you lose half of them we're all going to die" IS JUST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IDIOTIC! I'm sorry, but if the fate of our entire military operation rests on this, I'm sending out as many of my best as I can spare, not just a rookie academy student, a supposed marksman who can't hit the broadside of a barn (much less put a hole through it), and some adrenaline junky who somehow became apocalypse messiah BECAUSE HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN KILL ANYTHING!
