If anyone knows/knew the steam user formerly known as Curon, let them know I'd be into them sending me a friend request.
If you know them, don't send me a pm, unless they consent to any passed on details, just let them know they are missed.
I dont want them to feel pressured or nothing.
If nothing else, at least pass on my well wishes.
rebus_forever 18 Mar, 2023 @ 1:47pm
Steam chat is just not working for me, im getting notifications but i cant answer them coz i cant see them. Discord might be required.
StormBaron 6 Mar, 2023 @ 9:26pm
Sounds like a great plan! Lmk when you're feeling well enough to give it a go and I hope the total warring has been going well - seeing your playtime it looks like it has haha
rebus_forever 18 Feb, 2023 @ 8:31am
Its going to take me a lil while to get my capture hardware and editing software up to date, then remember how I had things setup, and then actually remember how to use anything, Collaborations whilst i sort out calibration, and the like, would be something id be really interested in.
Further specifics would probably require discord, but yeah, i am into the idea. Once im certain all ocular factors are stable, I will face discord.
ty very much for the well wishes and such, so far so good, half way through a total war campaign with no complications so far.
StormBaron 17 Feb, 2023 @ 10:56pm
I've got 3k subs on youtube and would love to make a video with you sometime, despite never making a gaming video before :)

Hope all your eye problems are being managed well!! Sending my best regards

I'd like to get back into it.

I miss your content
rebus_forever 15 Feb, 2023 @ 5:52am
It has been an awesome long time since I've been in a position to game on PC, had a very lame time with a 2 year ongoing eye issue that was repeatedly misdiagnosed and fluctuated a great deal.
I'm gonna do some gaming offline for a bit to ensure that my eyes don't get all derpy, I wanted to explain here in case folks saw activity and wondered why im not 'online'.
I am very aware of having let folks down multiple times when I thought the issue was improving, only for it to get worse and disappear some more. I want to make sure this time is for good before getting on discord and interacting with folks again.
Sorry for totally disappearing.
ICEMAN 17 Jun, 2022 @ 8:43pm

Multiple times now, steam has told me i have chat notifications and then not let me know what those messages were, if you sent me things and i didnt reply, please catch me while im online, I dont ignore people, not intentionally.
Sorry though regardless.
D'Ducktape 28 Mar, 2020 @ 9:37am
That definitely feels like classic linus Clickbait.
rebus_forever 28 Mar, 2020 @ 5:45am
Well, I just joined the linus folding at home team to help f*#k this virus in the f%k.
I know its a drop in the ocean and will probably help ltt's epeen more than actually do anything-
but, it feels right to at least suggest that anyone who can, jump onboard.

Either or, literally just saw the notification, excuse my slow and redundant reply.
Queen of Corpses 23 Sep, 2019 @ 10:58am
Both?
Both.
rebus_forever 23 Sep, 2019 @ 10:32am
I mean, yeah sure, making time for playing is tough but if you wanna jump in the discord as a fourth, as and when we get around to doing more, I want to get through it over time.
Jump in the discord if you use it otherwise feel free to add me here.
Queen of Corpses 23 Sep, 2019 @ 9:37am
Are you at all interested in continuing to play deathwing still? I've been struggling to find people to play with so here goes. (here from your YouTube naturally.)
rebus_forever 8 Jul, 2019 @ 4:38am
Thanks, I'm going to be trying to get into more of a rhythm and actually start uploading the written reviews on steam again at some point.
I've had a few months of rather costly technical issues.
Cheers for the feedback, sorry all the reviews on steam are ancient.
mikeisbored 8 Jul, 2019 @ 4:26am
I really like your reviews. Keep up the good work!
rebus_forever 3 Mar, 2019 @ 3:05am
I tend to avoid being online while recording to avoid steam popup notifications, I am aware I barely communicate with any of the folks I've played with via steam in the past.
if you wanna catch me, catch me via discord ideally https://discord.gg/BRWtTwk

L4D did have a versus mode granted, vermintide at present doesnt seem to but aside from that, vermintide has both special abilities for the player charecters aswell as numerous specialist opponents filling the role of the various L4D special zombies. A versus mode on that basis is feasable however the main component of both l4d and vermintide is a co op vs ai experience with various stages that together make up a campaign,
Vermintide provides 60% of experiences available in L4D and with the final 40% that would have been L4D's survival mode- Vermintide instead gives us a million weapons to unlock and more playstyle for each charecter than L4D had between all of its charecters.

I personally only really played L4D for the co op mode, I sorta forgot about the verses mode- otherwise I would have been more specific with my comparisson- thanks for the checking my review and commenting, I will probably add a line or two at some point being more specific.
Taaa.
Brandox 31 Aug, 2018 @ 2:07am
I had a question. On your Vermintide review you and many others compare it to L4D. How is this so? There is no PVP? Or special abilities to outsmart and out think your oppontents via PVP.

I just cant understand why you guys compare the two. It really pulls at the heart strings of us L4D players who want nothing more than a recreation of our beloved game. I researched the game and it looks from an outside perspective that it is nothing like L4D. It seems like a hack and slash but without zombies its vermins.

Well I appreciated the review nonetheless. I dont think I will jump on the game for now as people have complained of no updates for 6+ months.
rebus_forever 16 Aug, 2018 @ 12:49pm
I wasnt expecting to be so close to 300 subs before christmas, views are poor so yeah, if you know anyone who might like my stuff - give it a share.
Thanks to folks helping me get this far.
BeatYourHeadIn 26 Jul, 2018 @ 9:16pm
This Master of Orion remake is only getting 3 of the 4 x's right. The exterminate part of the acronym is it's biggest weakness. The ship battles are still so awkward even with ship roles implemented. And the ground battles.... good lord, didn't even add a dice roll or anything.
BeatYourHeadIn 15 Jul, 2018 @ 7:35am
I've had a couple motherboards die, which I had no easy way of confirming myself, so that's where the computer shop comes in. I asked direct and technical questions while I was there to make sure I was learning; got them to show me their diagonstic method and how they know that the motherboard was dead, etc. I replaced the parts myself though, and like you I handle the software stuff myself. I mean computer repair, like car repair can get pretty pricey so these skills save good money too.

It feels more relevant now than ever before to be proud of computer know-how.
BeatYourHeadIn 15 Jul, 2018 @ 7:35am
Oh yeah, save for sure. If you personally don't need to drive and don't have a car, you are already saving good money. I use the car DIY comparison mostly because it's a pretty big deal where I live. My dad is a wrench monkey, that Road Rash gal is, a lot of my co-workers are, a lot of my family are. They all have one or two car garages that can hold their project cars.

I, however, have a strata parking stall... I spill oil on it and I have to pay for damages LOL. I use my computer DIY abilities as make up for this situation he he he. I get to talk about replacing thermal paste and running VR acceptable frametimes like they talk about ball joints and superchargers.
rebus_forever 15 Jul, 2018 @ 6:22am
I am sorta at the same level of ability as you.
I don't think I have ever used a computer store to fix an issue..
I do however have multiple problems with my current comp and as a rule let known issues languish and fester for a while on my computer before confronting them.
Currently - hard drives spontaniously not being recognised requiring multiple restarts sometimes and a display issue I am hoping is software rather than hardware related but as a rule with one exception the comps ive built work like troopers.
It is super handy not having to rely on outside sources for computer related issues, anything I don't know can generally be worked through with a few online guides at worst.
Mostly on top of the health stuff, when I don't release a video for a while - less so, thanks for asking.

On balance though, we would both save more cash in life if we knew more about running and maintaining a car.
I mean, assuming I ever learn how to drive?
BeatYourHeadIn 14 Jul, 2018 @ 6:02pm
So yeah, while I'm totally useless beyond oil and headlamp changes in DIY car maintenance, I can tear down and build up PCs quite handily. I also have enough spare hardware lying around now that I hope trouble shooting these current systems is possible so I no longer have to rely on the computer repair shop to daignose issues that crop up.
BeatYourHeadIn 14 Jul, 2018 @ 6:02pm
Oh boy that's a deep story. Were you able to recover from the illness before long? My first rig was an AMD system. Had an Athlon 2600 and a Radeon card. I paid a local computer store $1500 for it which was ALOT of money back then when I was paying rent and making minimum wage. I wasn't fluent in hardware at the time so I'm not sure if I got a good deal, but it lasted me for 5 or 6 years before I felt compelled to upgrade.

Also, I learned to tinker on it by adding ram modules and hard drives to it. So the price also bought me an education in computer components. Clearly I ended up getting a lot of value out of it. I built my second system from scratch in 2010, and I replaced that one with two new systems I built last year, one for gaming and one for the home entertainment center.
rebus_forever 14 Jul, 2018 @ 11:59am
Yeah, I used to be into comps as a child, mildly messing around with pc's in the dos era and so was familiar with the inside of a computer from my time as a youngling.
Like a decade or more ago I got diagnosed with a chronic illness that resulted in me using one of my perents spare pc's - they were pentium 4 machines in an era where most folks were gaming on dual cores and quads, I couldnt afford a pre built system and dow 1 was basically my main distraction from ill stuff - I became an amd fan for life when the athlon 620 dropped making a cheap, overclockable quad core available to me.
Totally into building and pc hardware, if I ever get into a relevant position re the Youtubes, pc tech and hardware would be one of my focusses.
You build aswell? what was your first rig?
BeatYourHeadIn 14 Jul, 2018 @ 8:26am
Thats cool that you like AMD and seem to be knowledgeable about computer hardware. Are you into computer building or anything?

Hi, thanks for the offer, I took a look at your group rules and shot off a request.
Thanks for commenting and hopefully we will interact some more in the future.

I came across your curator. You've been writing some pretty good reviews! I'd like to extend an invitation to join our reviewer support group, the Reviewers' Guild.

Either way, keep writing!
