BLOODKILL and BLOODKILL: GOREBLAST OVERKILL are like that 3d maze game for Windows 95 you played in Excel or something and your computer got struck by lightning and it becomes an ultra immersive ultra simplistic 3d maze shooter with HEAVY serious sam elements

It's like AssaultCube, Serious Sam, and Catacomb 3D walked into a bar and took turns passing a joint and this was their spirit voyage into the stone cold "Windows 95 Demo Software" vibes. I get reminded of Dead Hunt and some kind of Java Flip Phone FPS game. You could tell me this was a sequel to a hit on the nokia n gage, and I'd believe you. Pure simplicity in John Romero-Style Maze Design and immersive graphics.

These games are the SlowRoads of FPS. A game to play when you're reaching your zen.

Bonus Points for the BFG being an Elephant Gun, although it'd be more accurate to call it a Kinetic Bombardment via Shoulder Mounted Artillery. The music is amazing, too. I want to buy the soundtracks.

This game is basically the spiritual successor to Nazi Zombies: Portable, a quake mod/homebrew game for hacked psps as well as quake source ports, but with permanent upgrades kinda like Vampire Survivors. That's not to say there's any xp or levels- the core gameplay is still NZ:P

Great game. I like how punctuation isn't required. Also, Flash Gitz is one of the words you gotta type. Imagine that

It's exactly what I wanted after playing doom eternal, and it flows perfectly into a playthrough of Doom 2016. I suppose for the next 10,000 years, mankind will follow an eternal play loop of this, 2016 and eternal back to back. Just like Doomguy.

I finally reached the max rank, Ace, and I soon realized that despite never having expectations set I was unable to fully upgrade my ship. I feel cheated. If I had been informed beforehand, I don't think I would have uninstalled it.

It all started on my ipod touch first generation. Now after over a decade, it's finally on the steam deck.

You know, when I first played this, I thought it was just going to be a good-looking Doorbreaker without much substance. And that's true- but what it lacks in substance, it makes up for in simplicity and style. If you have a one hour lunch break at work and you're a fan of Blood, but don't have enough time to play the real thing, crack open a can of Monster and give this game a whirl. I don't think many would be disappointed- especially for the price!

Doorbeaker is my idea for a name along the likes of Post Void, Mullet Mad Jack and Anger Foot.

Early Access Review
I have a few problems with this game from a basic game balance standpoint, but I have a few problems with HP Lovecraft as a person (understatement of the millennium) and I still read him for the way he pushed the science fiction horror medium forward. I guess it's the same with this game. The shotgunners' reaction times are instant and at the speed you move you figure they'd go the doom-meets-bullet-hell route, making you feel like max payne without needing bullet time. But the game is just so darn good to play, it's an absolute feast. An aged steak in an otherwise overly well-done market, where every game is either nostalgia-bait or a return to form. We needed this game in the market- I got into boomer shooters in 2009 when Brutal Doom caught my attention and I didn't look back. I play classic doom more now, but I still crave something that pushes the formula in a unique direction. Something to put the ego back into id shooter. I was expecting this to be more like a roguelite, but the card drops are set as far as I can tell and there's no randomness. I have no idea where this game is going to go, but it has killer potential. The entire game is basically the mindblowing independent sakuga animation you see on youtube at 3 am but for boomer shooters. But it's missing that id. If they can focus on improving the rhythm of combat and tightening the gameplay loop, they will have a hell of a game.

One more thing. The protagonist is absolutely one of the greatest the genre has seen. The grim confidence he exudes is hypnotic. I want to feel like the gravelord the same way I want to feel like the doomslayer, and while the game still needs a lot of polish to get on the same level as doom eternal, it does indeed have the potential to be that good. And that's something I feel deserves a purchase in early access.

All the setpieces. The one liners. The amazing environments. After a master force of world and cinematic game design Wolfenstein: The New Order and the following sequels, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is a master effort that fully immerses that Machine Games DNA with the very soul of the source material. Not since the Robocop game have we seen such and effort, and since the Robocop game was AAA, this makes it one of the very best AAA games based on established movie franchies, alongside Goldeneye and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay/Dark Athena. The engine is immensely powerful and solves many of the issues I have with Unreal Engine 5 while building on top of the famous Doom Eternal version of iD Tech. This is what movie games are supposed to be.

That being said, there's one caveat. The performance. This game will take everything your computer has and more. Turn ALL optimizations in nvidia control panel OFF. Set vulkan to PREFER NATIVE. Turn OFF Nvidia Ultra Low Latency. These are my specs:

Intel i9 9900kf @5.0 oc (more about this later)
Nvidia 4070ti Super
32x2 3200 cas19 ram (3200mhz OC)
500 gb nvme and 10tb Western Digital Black Drive
gold rated 850w power supply

According to msi afterburner, not only was this game using 90% of my 4070 ti at 1080p on max settings and ray tracing off, but every single thread was maxxed out at 100% with zero dips. Max thoroughput. Max headroom. The game used so much of my system that I had a hard shutdown and had to turn my loadline calibration off- I turned off my cpu overclock, too, for good measure. Just know that this engine is optimized AND insanely graphically intensive. It's like they made the game hyperfocus like my autistic butt does. And the game looks gorgeous, aside from all the TAA (which may or may not be a dealbreaker- but DLAA hides most of it).

I got this game for free with my nvidia graphics card purchase.
