Great game but not easy at start. I played EU III years ago and did not remember much of the game's mechanics. I owned other titles from Paradox but could not start playing them since I knew I will need tons of hours to learn how to play.

Hence I finally invested the necessary time and this is a great empire builder game. The diplomacy is so well done that you could really fear the AI. While the AI need cheats at Civilization game, at EU, the Ai is very challenging at normal difficulty.

What is remarkable is that every details matter. What you build is important, which troops you recruit, what alliance you ahve, etc. You have to look to various screens all the time and when you go to war, you have to review every details otherwise you will find yourself overwhelm by the various opponents.

If you have hundred of hours available, you want real challenge, this is you game. For lighter version there is Civ (great game as well) or Total war games (great action games).
