First off, let's be frank here: MPGB:SGE is badly translated. The team seems to have done a middling job at best of adapting the game for English audiences, and it shows. There's not a lot as far as... well, anything to make the game accessible, and there's really no reason for the 'girls' to be there, aside from generic player stand-ins.

As far as being a mahjong game, it's actually pretty decent. The AI isn't bad, and the gameplay is smooth - again, for people that already know how the game is played. But really, I'd have killed for a tutorial and (dare I dream?) story mode to bring more people into the game.

PROS:
-Decent AI
-Good control scheme

CONS:
-'MEH' everything else.
-Terrible translation.

OVERALL: 3/10. Not recommended - and the worst part is that I could see how it COULD have been good.

FTL is brilliant. It captures the feel of Trek/space opera-style exploration and combat to a T, has a pretty fun universe designed around it, and has a great challenge for anyone. I can't really recommend this title enough. Props to Subset for making this title so entertaining!

-Gobs of things to unlock, lots of variance in gameplay.
-Difficulty curve is relatively gentle, though actually beating the game is appropriately hard.
-Awesome flavor.

CONS:
-Graphics are a little on the 'meh' side.

OVERALL: 8/10. Distinctly above average, a must-play for any space opera fan.

That... that pretty much says it all! Do you like Chuzzle? Then you'll probably like 10,000,000.

Pros:
-Tried and true match-three system.
-Unobtrusive soundtrack.
-Unobtrusive graphics.
-No obnoxious in-game purchases.

Cons:
-Unimpressive soundtrack.
-Unimpressive graphics.
-Gameplay is an endless grind.

Overall: 4.5/10, a hair below average. If you're looking for a great match-three puzzler... eh, you can do better. That said, if you're a parent, I'd bump it up to 6/10 just because Little Johnny and Susie can't rack up ten thousand dollars on power ups.

Bedlam is definitely a game that fulfills its description - "Masochistically hard" describes it well. When you first load it up, beating the game feels like a pipe dream. It's not impossible, of course - it's just a trick to figure out how to exploit the tactical system to win more easily. The flavor is excellent, though there are some encounters that happen too frequently, jarring the suspension of disbelief. It's not for everyone, but if you are a fan of Heroclix-style move-limited tactical games, give it a go.
PROS:
-Good writing.
-Excellent art direction.
-Moderate amount of depth - hardly Dorf Fortress, but you can plunge in face first and find some interesting bits.
CONS:
-Steep learning curve for combat.
-Unlocking anything is an exercise in luck.
-Frequent repeats of certain encounters.

Bottom line: 5.5/10. Above average, certainly not for everyone, but fun for those that like the genre.

A surprisingly polished, spectacularly fun game. I've been following the title since it was "Wasteland Kings", and it's grown delightfully since then. The characters pack a lot of personality into a few pixels (and do so without annoying one-liners), the gameplay is tight and fast, and the challenge is brilliant. Add to that a very active update schedule, and Nuclear Throne is a must-try.
