Playing this game, is like having an Alcoholic father who you continue to hope will change but refuses to do so. The core gameplay loop of this COD is like any other from the tac-sprint era. Especially fast time to kill aside, there are actually a lot of good changes made here. The camo progression system is a very cool innovation and I'd like this to be the new standard for future titles. The guns in this game have a lot of variety and the attention to detail is impeccable, as Infinity ward seems to excel with, as was with MW2019. This, however, is where the positives end. The game is horribly unstable, I bought this game day one of its release and it has probably frozen 40-50 times at this point. I have a 12th gen CPU and a 3080 and the game is on an NVME. The game is chock full of visual bugs, occasionally making it impossible to see anything on screen thus forcing you to quit the game and possibly restart it to solve the issue. I have verified the integrity of game files after every freeze, and there are always exactly 38 files missing, which are "required" only for the game to subsequently freeze within the hour. I really, really want to love this game, there are times where awesome ♥♥♥♥ happens, and the game can be very satisfying, but it would be a crime for me to recommend this game to anyone, if you have played call of duty before, and like it, you will like this game, but if I were you, I would wait at least a few months if not longer, especially because Activision had the GAUL to charge 70 dollars for 10 maps and 51 guns on release.

Doom Eternal is fantastic. The game takes all of the good things from the older doom games, obviously specifically doom 2016, and improves them. Additionally, all of the things in Doom 2016 that could have been improved were improved upon in this installment. There's more ways to become stronger and really develop a playstyle. There are different ways to upgrade and empower your weapons with ability upgrades, as well as mastery challenges that unlock further abilities for your weapons, it's wonderful. The game looks amazing, runs very well, and feels unbelievably smooth. You have A LOT of tools, which can be intimidating at first, but once you play it, and practice, you can get really good, and basically dance around the enemies. If you're teetering on weather on not you should buy the game, BUY IT. I've always been a huge fan of FPS games, and none to date have made me feel as Adrenalin pumped and excited, as this game. It is unbelievably satisfying to really master the movement system. Exploration and secret areas have been a staple in doom games every since ultimate doom, and this game, of course, is no different. I'm personally not a big fan of the cheat code system, but you don't have to use them, and I do think it's a fun way to play the game in a different way after beating it the first run through. I haven't played the multiplayer or the DLC content, but I've heard very good things. There literally are not enough good things I could say about the game, just play it, if not for yourself, do it for me.

I have spent the last week playing through and finishing my first playthrough, minus the DLC. I've clocked in about 65 hours in that time, yes, in the last week. The game is very addicting, it can be quite difficult at times, but if you put in the time and practice, and most importantly, BE PATIENT, you'll do just fine. And especially now, is no better time to buy, The deluxe edition is 25 bucks right now. The base game is amazing in of itself, and the DLC adds so much more content, and some of the best version of some of the items in the entire game. I highly recommend this game to anyone, hardcore or casual gamers alike, give it a try! 11/10 would git gud again.
