Wolfenstein has been on a decline as of recent but I feel like this was the nail in the coffin, this series has always felt like something that you could play your own way, at your own pace, and this just feels like a huge formula change with not good results. The dependency on co-op can make this feel like a constant escort mission (Co-op has little affect besides there being another gun in the room and a door at the end of every section that you both need to be at to open) and with the inclusion of silver coins instead of upgrade kits, upgrading your weapons no longer feels like a scavenger hunt for a hidden object but a chore to collect money off of every corpse. By the same ideology comes the leveling system with "Perks", perks have always been unlocked through playing a certain way or performing specific challenges or tasks that yielded unique rewards but with the inclusion of the leveling system and the perk points, you can play however you like and upgrade every skill progressively, making it feel like a chore instead of a challenge. Overall I had high hopes and this game was a huge let down, preferably this game would have had co-op as a secondary option and a few additional non-story specific co-op heavy missions with similar perk and upgrading systems to the past games along with a more rich story and more like able characters.
