Despite being praised for its gritty realism, Ready or Not actually shies away from it.
Levels & details from before 1.0 release have been redone and changed to make the game less grim.

There are multiple voice lines heavily suggesting the existence of children NPCs, however the only ones you can find are immobile/hidden children, making them much less of an NPC and more akin to a piece of evidence you have to find. This reduces the risk and impact of maps that directly involve children, such as the child talent agency level & the hospital pediatrics wing.
In one of the earliest trailers, an elementary school shooting is promised, yet upon the release of the update, it was changed to a community college. Even more adult-sized NPCs, because we haven't seen that in every single other mission.

After a certain point it becomes repetitive, despite the well made models. You already get executed by your AI teammates for executing friendly NPCs (police and civilian alike), there is no reason to not include other non-grown adult sized NPCs in a game that touts "realism".

Recently, along with the console port of the game, VOID Interactive has decided to tone down its gritty realism even further by replacing the convulsing child with a sleeping one, giving tortured/trafficked individuals underwear and overall reducing the details that RoN isn't supposed to shy away from.

The game also fairly prominently uses AI generated assets, which AI politics aside is an odd choice considering the funding the development team received for development. Why couldn't they pay some artists good money for art assets, instead of using assets that don't make sense when you look at them? This is shameful for a game that tells most of its story through its environments.

Ready or Not is *so* close to being a great game. High production value, decent enough tactical gameplay. However I cannot recommend it in its current state, as it is clear they are willing to sell a watered down vision of what they initially promised. All to appeal to a larger, more mainstream audience.

If any VOID Interactive dev sees this: tactical shooters are NOT mainstream for a reason. Stop trying to appeal to a mainstream audience!

The less you know about the game, the better. If you must know, you are an astronaut exploring a cozy little solar system full of curiosities and secrets. Being a knowledge based game, you can only learn/experience things once, so stop reading this and buy the game. It's a well regarded game for a reason.

Good game.

If Chants of Sennaar is the isometric puzzle version of language deciphering, Homicipher is the visual novel equivalent.
You can expect pleasant conversations with enjoyable characters in a mysterious world full of strange encounters.

The photobashed art style & use of stock-sounding SFX hearkens back to point & click adventure flash games. As cheesy as it can look (and sound) at times, the game's aesthetic does bring back nostalgic memories for me.

There appears to be plenty of endings to this game. At least 18 if the number I got is any indication. Some of these endings seem very abrupt and out of the blue in my opinion, however the sheer number & variety of them make up for this deficit.

If you're looking to scratch that itch that Chants of Sennaar left you with or are looking for a cute little VN with a cool puzzle aspect, I would recommend this game.

A surprisingly good game, filled to the brim with fun little minigames with light horror elements. MORE THAN JUST A DATING GAME. It is clear that this game is bursting with passion, would highly reccommend. 9/10.

Hello!
If you see this, STOP READING ANY OTHER REVIEWS. THE LESS YOU KNOW, THE BETTER.

Mouthwashing is a solid horror game. $13 is a little steep of a price in my opinion, but I would absolutely recommend it for $8 or below.
If you're looking a short, heavily narrative focused horror game, I would recommend Mouthwashing.

PLAY THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY FIRST!!!

Stalker 2 plays very similarly to the SoC, CS, and CoP. So much so that some of the old problems still exist which negates some of the improvements.

I would recommend this game to Stalker veterans.

For those who are new to the series, I would HIGHLY recommend playing the original trilogy first (Starting with Shadow of Chernobyl, then Clear Sky, then Call of Pripyat) while some of the bugs and balancing get worked out.

8/10

Like Trepang2 if on a lower budget & funnier.

I personally prefer the vibes and gameplay of the original, as this game has to get around copyright by making watered down versions of meme audio + visuals. Understandable, but a shame.

Not a terribly long game, but a fun ride nonetheless.

Would recommend.

Just goes to show how much voice line variety can make generic soldiers very fun to fight.

A super awesome game that I would recommend to everyone.

It does so many things RIGHT, and I cannot sing its praises enough.

If you're a fan of shooters as well as running & gunning, you will love this game.

I'm glad that Sony backed down & reconsidered their PSN account requirement.

NecroVision is definitely a dated game.
I honestly think it should have ended about halfway through its campaign, as the "plot" (if you can call it that) really falls apart and drags on for the last half of the game.
The game also tends to throw dozens of enemies at you in every room, and it gets a little less fun towards the end of the game.
It even has rifle iron sights which are aimed higher than you actually shoot.

However, the fact the game has lots of physics (that actually interact with YOU) as well as other jank that makes the game enjoyable *almost* makes up for its shortcomings. (You can absolutely BODY human enemies with the sprint melee of the rifle or SMG, and the jankiness of the ragdolls make it all the more goofy)

It's certainly a dated game, but if you are well aware of this, it may be worth picking up on a sale if you don't have super high expectations.
NecroVision honestly holds up pretty well for a 2009 release.
I'd rate the first half of the game a 7/10 with the second half o the game being a 4/10, balancing out to closer to a 5.5/10 overall.

If you don't want to deal with the grind, I'd suggest quitting after defeating Zimmerman at the end of chapter 5 or so
