A worthy installment in the Souls series, which is seriously high praise. The gameplay is back, the world is brand new, and the level of polish is as impressive as it was in Dark Souls 1. However, to balance this review out, I disliked the level design's lack of interconnectedness (forcing the developers to allow you to warp between bonfires from the start), PvP is still a relative mess, some of the bosses lacked variety, and the hitboxes seemed a little off at times. I still had an absolute blast playing it.

One of the best games I have ever played. It has its flaws, to be sure--PvP is a mess and basic information (like what each stat does) can be unavailable--but months after I've beaten Dark Souls, vivid memories of it still stick with me. For the most rewarding experience, beat it solo.
