I bought this game back in early access, it was really good even back then. Nowadays, it's excellent! Was a nice surprise to see the game gain official mod support via workshop and eventually a 4th character.

You may be asking, wait, only four characters? Yeah, in the *base game* before modding it. There's four characters but each one has 21 difficulties to go through, each adding a twist as you Ascend. Once you've won a run as each of the characters (minus Watcher) you also unlock a fourth floor apparently. Haven't reached it myself yet because I have yet to figure enough out to do so, as you still have to figure out some things after and I'm avoiding spoilers about it.

The main cons I can think of is savescumming exists due to the fact each run's RNG is seed-based, and even if one does it you can end up in a situation where no matter your play order in a fight you just die. I don't do it myself unless I missclicked an event or something right as the UI opened, just need some selfcontrol for this.
There's also the fact that you're likely gonna die. A lot. Before you get the hang of the gameplay if you aren't familiar enough with card games (I wasn't!) it's gonna be a brutal learning curve initially most likely, but it becomes more and more skillbased despite the RNG due to each character having their own ways of dealing with the drawing system. One initial tip I do have is, don't be afraid to skip card rewards if none of your options sound like they'd help you! Same with if your deck is already really consistent unless it helps that consistency further. Some builds only work in thin decks, and vice versa, is why, but typically the thinner the deck you rely on, the more likely you'll be able to get to your combos in a reasonable turn count.

I don't know what else to say, though, it's so much fun, I don't usually pass around 15-20 hours on a game if I don't enjoy it enough or if it just isn't as enticing as other stuff in my library, but this consistently has me coming back for more.
