Early Access Review
So far for my first day playing the game is really good, first person view feels clunky and I had to get used to the centered third person viewpoint (vs it being shoulder mounted like in GTA). Overall the controls are pretty intuitive, there's a lot of feedback when using your inventory or when hitting monsters and doing most tasks, there are some UI elements missing sounds that I think would benefit from having some but it's not a big deal.

Dying is pretty forgiving, you can choose where you want to respawn as long as in your ghost form you can get to the respawn point fast enough, there was one time I died and couldn't find a spawn point and it spawned me to the closest one but it was in an unfamiliar area which was quite immersion breaking and confusing.

Something else to note is there is no passive health regen whatsoever, you can make food and find bandages to heal yourself even give yourself a buff or use damage reduction potions but the main thing this achieves is stopping you from having to die and run back to where you were, there is no durability or repairing so you don't lose anything from just letting your character die. There are skills though so cooking food helps with leveling up your cooking skill which is pretty useful.

The game currently has a small community, there's no dedicated servers, instead you as a player can play singleplayer or host a server while you play but as soon as you log off the server turns off as well, according to the developers dedicated servers are coming soon, so if you don't want to play singleplayer consider convincing a friend to also buy the game or join their discord server as they have a looking for party channel to help you find people to team up with.

Movement feels great, there's even a glider you get on the tutorial island that is very useful for traveling, you don't have a sprint but you do have a roll and a sneak option, the normal walking speed is plenty.

There are skills for your weapons, the higher your skills are the more damage you deal, different weapons also have an effect on damage output, there is no player level though in this game and mobs don't have a health indicator until they are attacked so you may run into a fairly strong monster right off the bat which is a little frustrating.

Overall the game is really charming, has an amazing soundtrack, very cute characters and an art style that you can fall in love with. Happy to see what is to come in the future.

Some food and drink give a +recovery buff which heals you over time. Currently you can stack up to +4 recovery which can heal you to full in maybe 15 seconds. You may need to level of cooking to get the good stuff, but there should be shops in the world that sell +recovery items.
