Pete Parsons should consider selling one of his 16+ new cars before firing another 200+ hard working people that make this game as good as it is.

Unionize Bungie, and all studios for that matter.

exceptionally good 'vania with a gritty but endearing storybook style. very simple but enjoyable story with a great sense of humor. no end of amusement hearing Geralt of Rivia narrate some audacious puns and silly animal names from start to finish. Combat is very good if a little wonky with some of the dodge windows / hit boxes, but nothing frustrating and on the recommended difficulty it hit's a decent sweet spot of tough but fair. IGT of 7 1/2 hours to 100% I would say is very reasonable. Doesn't overstay it's welcome. Would recommend!

Absolutely fantastic game. Holds its own strong against From Soft's titles, and stands tall as an exemplar entry into the "souls-like" genre.

Rock solid game play, interesting and unique systems of its own while still staying familiar enough for vets to know what is going on. It's also not nearly as difficult as folks were hyping it up to be. It has some good difficulty spikes as you go along, but nothing that felt like a real wall. Just spots where I had to actually try and step up my execution of the game's core mechanics (it REALLY needs you to get good at parrying, so think more Sekiro than Dark Souls or Bloodborne in that respect)

Beautiful graphics and environments, and perfect optimization. The game easily would run at a perfect 144 fps even on my not-quite top of the line system.

Hell, even the story ended up being really damn good too, which is more than honestly a fair portion of From's own games can say. It starts a little slow but as you get to know the characters more and progress the plot along it can be pretty engrossing! Obviously it aint no BG3 or something more story centered, but for a souls-like i think the only other one that comes close to having characters i cared about this much would probably be Sekiro, and a couple of the NCP plots in DS1. I would say this beats out both of them though because it definitely gives more attention to those sub plots.

Overall: Absolutely a must play for any fan of the genre. One of the best among them.

Edit: It would also seem this game has PLENTY worth doing into NG+ as well, so if replay value is a concern it has quite a lot!

first CRPG that has actually kept my interest. I bounced hard off Divinity 1 and 2, and Pillars of Eternity in a matter of an hour or two tops.

This game has hooked me something serious to where i've been playing 3 different runs of it, 2 co-op, and 1 solo, and been enjoying them all immensely. Despite the shortcomings of 5e as a system, this game makes decent use of it. The writing and acting are astoundingly great, including very well done mocap for pretty much every conversation and cutscene.

Highly recommend to anyone even remotely interested, even if you've not cared for CRPGs before.

Absolutely fantastic game so far. Expands upon the original in just about every way you could hope for.

YMMV though as it is, as everyone knows, very very poorly (if at all) optimized on just about every platform. With a middling system running a 2070 Super i'm getting at lowest around 40 - 45 FPS in some of the rougher spots, and it can get a little choppy in some areas too. If you can tolerate that, then the game itself is absolutely worth it. If not, then wait and pray for some patches in the coming weeks.

UPDATE 5/1/23: Today's patch has definitely helped a fair bit. Still not where it should be, but rougher areas are keeping a steady 45-50 fps instead of dipping to 40 and below in some choppy parts. Much more playable in these circumstances.

Absolutely fantastic game. Tight gameplay, fun story, great characters, and legitimately very fun to speed run too. Highly recommend~

Early Access Review
Ambushing their userbase with Easy Anti Cheat the day before they intend to add it is absolutely unforgivable.

This game still requires far too many accessibility mods to even play for folks with disabilities of various sorts to excuse actually killing off their legitimate modding community in such a scummy way.

Will happily change this review to positive once they back down and do not add EAC to their game. It already can struggle to run well as it is, and this will only make that even worse.

Fantastic blend of Sekiro-esque combat, metroidvania level design and puzzles, and a rock solid charming Star Wars story to wrap it all up in.

9.9999 / 10 likely my GOTY

Incredibly well done changes to the overall game that actually will keep things interesting far into the future

Overall an incredibly promising start to a new Destiny under Bungie's sole direction
