Oblivion is, in my opinion, the best Elder Scrolls game to date.

Graphically speaking, it's a product of it's time with all the cell-shaded bloom your heart can handle. Though out of date by modern standards, it still holds up compared to the mud splatters that are Morrowind and Skyrim. This game has colour. This game has a style.
The music is a soulful high orchestral soundtrack. Iconic is the right word for it. You're gonna be able to pick these songs out of a crowed even after only hearing them once. Granted, like its sister game Fallout 3, you will have heard everything within about 3 hours of play. Unlike Fallout 3 I never got tired of it.
Gameplay wise, Oblivion is a happy medium between old-school CRPG and modern Action RPG. Weather you choose to hack-n-slash, chuck spells and arrows, or stick to the shadows, you'll find the blend between character stats and player skill is right where it needs to be. Also, there's tangible stats with numbers you improve by using them. It was the start of the end for Elder Scrolls, but this was where they got it right. The world is rich and filled with well written quests. I seem to find something I've never seen before each time I go back.
To be honest, all of the bad stems from the gamebryo engine and the lack of resource on Bethesda's part. It may take a hot minute to actually get it up and running. Crashes may be frequent until you find the goldielocks settings for you. Aside from that, there's only a handful of voice actors throughout the game. While quests are masterfully made, the casual dialogue is infamously bad. If they'd just gotten some extras from around the office when they made this thing it would've been a lot better. The most brutal knock against this game, however, is character progression. You are going to level up FAST in this game no matter what you do. It takes real patience and note taking stills to properly train up and get the most out of your levels. As a result of this late game can be especially punishing to newcomers.
One last note: there's some incredible mods out there for this game. Try them out, but be careful. It's really easy to mess things up.

So in summary; Oblivion is both timeless and a product of its time. If you like real role-playing games and are willing to figure things out, you're gonna love Oblivion.

Payday 2 is a game about watching things fall apart.

At it's core, it's a solid FPS game with notes of teamwork found in stuff like Left 4 Dead. A wide roster of guns and characters coupled with an exp. system and decently challenging achievements help sell an arcade-y feeling as you blow through hundreds of police officers and millions of dollars. All the while a kick-ass soundtrack blares in the background. What's not to like?

Well. . . A few things, actually. First off, the controls are awkward to say the least. Everything feels strangely floaty, and you have no idea what's going to take a couple seconds versus a couple of minutes to do. Even after re-binding half the stuff to something palatable it feels like I'm playing with a layer of styrofoam around my fingers. Second, the randomness of the heists. Though most of them will tell you what you're getting in to, and even provide a handy little map of the place beforehand, a number of the objectives in each heist can be different every playthrough. This is bad. Though it's not a mind blowing amount, enough things will still shift around that even seasoned players of this game might find themselves at a loss on occasion. Third is the exp. barrier. Most of the people who do play this game have already reached infamy (think CoD's prestige) and thus are playing heists orders of magnitude more difficult than what any starting player is prepared for. If you want to go online, then you have to be the host to stand any real chance at anything. Then there's the skills and abilities you unlock. "Archaic" is the right word to use here. Some of them (looking at you sentry gun stuff) are outright useless on high or even mid tier difficulties, where as others (Stoic and Inspiration for example) are absolute must haves. If you allocate your points wrong, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

To summarize, Payday 2 has a solid foundation, but the sheer amount of things that can and will go wrong keep this game from being the smash-and-grab fun that it should be. If you want a similar experience, carry a stack of ice bricks on a hot summer day. It's gonna fall apart on you, and a few of you might even feel refreshed from the light workout and cold water, but it's not something I would personally recommend.

5/10 In reality... Not quite worth it.

Ever since I finished Half-life 2 Episode 2 I've been clamouring for more Half-life. I've played through most of the series by now and I'm probably the only person who's still actualy holding out for the mythical Half-life 3. Imagine my suprise when I found this licensed title. The best way to describe it is "surreal." It's like playing through a mod almost, and that's the sad part. Cramped coridors, cheep map building, and a general lack of charicter - not includeing the annoying unavoidable diolouge - does not work in this games favor. On top of that, the climax cranks the difficulty up to 1000% and is generaly unsatisfying. No new weapons, few new concepts, and a lot of narrow coridors. However, it's still Half-life at it's core. Sadly, it's probably the last Half-life that will ever have anything to do with Valve. If your crazy about Half-life, you will buy this game, and probably be dissapointed.

Great soundtrack backed by colourfull visuals and a 90's art style. This game was one of the three that I had when I was a kid, and I knew that I had to have it on steam. Yes, its outdated. Yes, the controlls aged like skim milk. Yes, everything is WAY too dificult to unlock. Yes, custom sprays still look like MS Paints akward half-sibling. Jet GRIND Radio is still kicking, though. So, I concider this a more polished version for those Sega kids looking back at themselfs and thinking "I wish I could literaly paint the town red and give the cops the finger!" SO. Give it a shot if its on sale, and you have a game pad, and you know its compadible.

I wish I could just stick the songs on my phone.
JSR? Good, but with some flaws. 7/10

Do I even need to explane it? Even Game Informer gave this game praise. I've had to scour the interned looking for people who have a negative oppinion on this game, and those that I found either hadn't played it or were just trolling. I've spent less time in this game than in Fallout 4, but it has ment 10 times more to me. Despite the memery, fanbase, internet saturation, or graphical bias, you should give this game a shot. It can run on my Windows 98 laptop, seriously. If I actually told you anything about the game, I'd be doing it a great injustace. Nonetheless, even knowing about the game and its multple endings and all that, I left almost fully satisfyed.

Only two other games have managed to tug at me like this one.

Fug 10 dollars. Toby Fox, if I'd known truely what I was in for, I would have payed 100.
Undertale Deserves a 10/10

This game is the epitamy of failure. I cant even get past the start screen half the time, and when I do I cant make it out of the first sector. It's so hard that its unplayabe. Buy it if you wast to think about what pixelated space looks like. Not see, THINK.

I bought this game. I laughed at its absurdity. I was awe struck by the experiance. I was left crying, and with many questions. I want more.

Besides the thrilling platforming, awesone visual style and enviormentalist message, Dustforce has a kick-ass soundtrack that wold be worth buying on its own.
I give it 9/10
