the actual game thats pretty good too. this game is as addictive as people thought balatro was.

I made an old review for this that was more jokey than serious, but I feel it's time I made a serious one considering I've played around 450 hours more than my original review was posted.

Rimworld is a wonderful game for those who like to manage. Managing lives, managing combat, managing building. You can certainly use this to minmax and create the perfect place for your colonists, but ultimately I find that Rimworld exceeds most as a vehicle for storytelling, and building around the world instead of expecting the world to accommodate to you.

A few minor complaints of mine have to deal with many things that can easily be fixed with light modding (I say "light" as I have ~500 mods and you don't need this many). But primarily it's very difficult for those who have real interest in the game to properly get into it as sales are absolutely minuscule and far apart, I'm pretty sure it's 20% off at MOST. In the developer's words, they intend to "make a game that’s worth its full price", and while I agree that Rimworld is absolutely worth it, I feel that it's just rather expensive for what the basegame has and how half-baked some of the DLC mechanics feel.

Keep this into consideration and get the game when it's on sale, no matter how small the sale is. I hope this helps and that you end up realizing that it truly is worth the price with a few extra addons.
