This was an excellent first entry for both Big Mode and Billy Basso. It's been many years since I've had this much fun with a Metroidvania, with the closest example I can think of being Metroid Dread in terms of enjoyment. Animal Well is not too long and the lack of combat is an interesting new twist for the genre. The abilities are unique and bend your brain as you get deeper in the well as you use them to traverse and solve puzzles. Speaking of, the puzzles were fantastic! I was able to solve the first ending and about 58 of the 64 eggs without a guide. Good luck for whoever tries to 100% this game with no help, especially if you plan to do the true ending. Overall very worth 25$, so buy it (and if you haven't played Metroid Dread yet, go play that first. It's the best the genre has ever had, and Animal Well is a very close second!).
