Give it a play through, then install the Long War mod if you like strategy games and depth. Great game, better mod.

CK3 is a very solid mechanical improvement over CK2 in so many ways that it's impossible to list them all, but it's severely lacking in regards to every bit of *content* that CK2 had that CK3 now doesn't. As such, it feels like it's too easy to quickly learn everything there is to learn about the game and be done with it.
Still, very solid and mods/DLC releases will make up for it. I look forward to more.

So I quit the game for 5-6 months when 1.0 came out because gunslinger was broken, but after replaying it, none of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about that aiming mode seems to have stuck around.

Good game, aiming is hard, I suck.

EDIT: 10/21/23

Honestly this game is amazing, very unique and tons of fun to play. It has amazing sound design and everything, but the devs seem intent on ruining the game.

However, even putting aside questionable balance decisions regarding new weapons and perks entering the game, they're also introducing an update to the game which will increase the minimum system requirements of the game. They say that this will affect less than 10% of the playerbase, but that number seems very low to me, and I'm suspicious, given the requirements they listed.

They're also *discontinuing the game* on PS4 and Xbox one when this update comes out. That's right, if you play the game on PS4 or Xbox one, you will no longer be able to play the game you paid for. They're introducing a way for you to migrate your account and keep playing on the PS5 or Xbox series X&S without having to buy an additional copy, but what about those with no new console? They're forced to upgrade just to keep playing the game they already paid for.

This is a despicable business move, and I cannot support it. Everyone who plays on PC, make sure that you meet the NEW minimum system requirements before you buy as well.

The update is coming out in April of 2024, and they are:

Processor: Intel 7th gen 7700
Graphics Card: Nvidia gtx 1650 super

All the other negative reviews on this game are basically spot on. A great idea hamstrung by extremely poor execution. Many of the initial puzzles require you to bend rules in fun and creative ways, but later puzzles often have one ultra-specific solution that is based upon rules/mechanics that the game straight up didn't tell you existed and you're left to bumble into on your own.

It reached a head for me in stage 2, Solitary Island, that one puzzle requires you to push text over yourself to complete.

Another example is a level in Stage 1, with the very first puzzle requiring you to push text into something to "sink" it, which the game never tells you is possible, you're just meant to blindly stumble into it.

Continuing on, many levels have different rules that you can't alter in any given way by just locking them off from access, which points you in the direction of those ultra-specific solutions with rules the game forgot to tell you it had. You can't really go hog-wild with the rules to make your own solution, because I see (as I kind of thought earlier) that that would necessitate samey puzzles and lead to the same solution for many of them. Still, I thought I'd give the game a shot, and it disappointed extremely.

The music is extremely repetitive and boring too, just to top it off.

Watch a playthrough if you wanna see the game yourself, don't buy it.

After owning this game for quite a long time, I'm finally writing a review about it.
Great game. Great levels, great enemy variety, great unfair spawns.

This game is absolutely superb. Like promised, the game does challenge the traditional forward-thinking model towards puzzle games, like Portal. The games hints can also be applied to life (meaning that they are things like "Sometimes you can't see the end, but you just have to keep going") and the like.

However, it does get very irritating on the eyes, what with all the damn colors. Just make sure that you can handle lots of contrast in colors in a game.

9/10- made me wander around one single room for 2 hours trying to figure out what to do.
