Big picture, it's just not very good, a lot of baffling design decisions. I worry that people are way too complacent with the low quality products turned out on big budgets and that the sales and reviews that seem at odds with how it actually feels to play the game are just a never ending cycle of AAA slop like the marvel movie franchise at this point.

I've been playing the free version for almost a decade. The barrier to entry can be extreme, but at the end of the day when things start to "click" and you start to "get it" a whole world of possibilities and unbridled imaginative creation erupt in front of you. The devs and the community have earned my unfiltered respect and adoration. The experience with this game has been so unreal over the years it actually inspired me to use community resources to teach myself how to mod first this game then others with zero prior experience. There are few things on this earth that have kindled that kind of passion in me.

Of course I don't expect other people to have the same kind of experience lol, but I had to put my 2 cents in on what this game means to me and why I feel it is extremely special. Give it a try and remember losing is !!fun!!

Super disappointing story-wise with the retcon of the first game. Relies very heavily on "Hey remember this!", graphics are nice, but feels poorly optimized. Base construction is far more limited than previous games, art style is overly distracting at times especially dlc content.

You can still for sure get your moneys worth (on sale) and have a good time, but doesn't feel like progress for the franchise overall.

If they make a third game it'd be great to return to a style more inline with the classic franchise.

No clue why I enjoy this game so much, something about it makes me not mind the repetition. Hopefully the sequel releases on time and sees some success.

One of the few games I wish I had literally never laid eyes on. Rife with broken promises and abandonment. No different than when in early access with trash game mechanics and frustrating play. Devs who abuse the community like this do not belong in it, do not reward them with your money.

This is fun. Play it
