I hope this game is so succesful that they overdo it and make a third game.

Brings some new ideas to the table to freshen up the formula but is still EDF at it's core and deserves to sell more than it did.

This is a fantastic little Metroidvania game. I thought it was just some cheap licence game, but someone put a whole lot of love into it. Really the only downside is the soundtrack which is not even bad, just pretty generic. But other than that you get a great Metroidvania title that doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Basically a swiss alps folklore, oldschool fairy tale (think Brothers Grimm before they were made kid friendly). Gameplaywise, I'll be honest, it's not too special. Sort of your typical "defensive" horror kind of game, although you are able to fight back - but also simply evade battles if that's more your thing.

Presentationwise however this is ABSOLUTELY fantastic and deserves far more attention. Be it the pencil/coal-painting looking like graphics or the absolutely fantastic soundwork. It's not "crap your pants"-scary, but it's a very neat little story with a unique presentation and setting. In that regard I feel it's truly unique and I hope whatever creative forces drove this game create many more in future. Give this thing a try.

This might be the first negative review I ever published on Steam but I can't remember the last time I had a game this frustrating and filled with potential which makes it eve more infuriating. Please note, I'm specifically talking about a (multiplayer) PvE experience here. No PvP though.

There is a simple reason why I can't recommend this game: bugs. Literally EVERY aspect of this came is bugged in some way. Let me give you a few exmaples:
- materials you collected and placed into a workstation for processing can simply disappear
- enemies can become invincible, noticeable only because their HP gauge is not showing up. (they can and WILL hurt you of course)
- mounts can simply teleport away, sometimes just a few metres sometimes across the whole map, and thus get killed
- using the mount "rescue" function to spawn it back to where you are can spawn the mount UNDER the map, making it non-retrievable without admin mode
- enemy mobs can spawn where there should be no enemy spawn possible due to building placement
- your corpse with all your hard earned loot and gear can fall through the map on death, making your gear and loot irretrievable (we didn't even manage to get that one back WITH admin mode)
- settings can reset for no reason
- a favorited server doesn't show up in the favorites list
- the intro can become unskippable, forcing you to watch it eeevery time you start up the game
- elevators in general just don't function properly
- random crashes to desktop/freezes are actually surprisingly rare, but do happen
- enemies can respawn in ridicoulus timeframes (can make especially early game hell)
- sometimes torches seem to give off too much heat so you will fry in your own base
- you'll have your usual pick of graphical glitches like strange animations etc - sometimes players also won't be able to see for example a sandstorm (their screen looks like there is no sandstorm, but it IS still happening, thus giving them damage etc)
- big enemies will sometimes simply not damage you when you stand below them - unless they suddenly do and might kill you spontaneously
- placing building pieces can be simply bugged, not allowing you to place things (gets fixed by removing the block next to it, then pllacing it again - sometimes at least)

All of these are based on experience we had. Some bugginess comes with the territory for these kinds of games, sure, but Conan can just wipe long stretches of hard work and it's absolutely infuriating. This is a survival game where EVERY aspect of surviving is bugged in multiple ways. Nothing just works. There is a decent core here without a doubt, but you are probably better off playing one of the survival games that don't want you to make you pull your hair out.

I played GemCraft like 10 years ago when it was available as a flash game. This thing is like oldschool Black Metal. Nothing has changed, it's simply more GemCraft. It basically still looks and sounds and plays the same as it did a decade ago (it really is not much of a looker, but I'd argue the artstyle is tried and proven).

It's a challenging Tower Defense game, but a superb one, forcing you to diversify your strategies and offering Endurance modes or special trial runs, alongside with many options to make it even tougher if you are looking for that extra challenge. If that sounds like something you might enjoy, get this.

It's just absolutely fantastic. No DLC ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, lots of content, good writing and the expansions really are expanion packs. Just buy it.
