This review comes from somebody who majorly plays unmodded; spending most of their time in the 3DEN editor, and little bit in the official Warlords gamemode.

Infantry gameplay
If you plan on hopping in any common official server, it's more than likely you're going to be playing infantry most of the time. There's a countless amount of oddities, such as
* Walking crouched with a primary weapon, you have almost no movement sway with your weapon, except the occasional bump, but only when walking forward-right.
* Sidearm sway can only be negated when moving very slowly or standing still.
* Standing with a rocket launcher gives you less sway than when crouched.
* Sprinting speed is affected by your equipped item; fastest run speed is in the order of unarmed > binoculars > sidearm > primary > launcher.
* Unarmed stance can only be achieved by having nothing equipped or by going prone while holding a launcher; unarmed crouch sprinting is the fastest way to travel as infantry.
* Trying to mount certain ladders is metaphorically painful.
* Switching and reloading weapons can feel really awkward at times.
* There are some timegated mechanics that you can stack for an advantage (reload then heal, reload then mount ladder), but not the other way around.

DLC
It's not too intrusive, but for when it does show, DLC markings are very inconsistent within the editor and arsenal. A few examples being
* Karts DLC items are not marked as DLC items in the arsenal, but are in the editor.
* Equipment and clothes from various DLCs are marked as DLC, but only some items require ownership.
* Reskins of vanilla weapons and attachments that are marked as DLC typically do not require DLC ownership.
* Being able to situationally use DLC equipment without owning a DLC as a try-before-you-buy thing is nice, but having the player learn what items do and don't require ownership through trial-and-error isn't intuitive.

Hidden/unused content
There is a load of unused content in the official game, such as uniform/vehicle reskins that requires unusual techniques to access, such as using the setObjectTexture commands in the editor. There are also props that you can only access using the createVehicle command, such as foliage props and pieces of large buildings.

Vehicle gameplay
There's a sizeable variety of vehicle gameplay. Submarines, boats, karts, quadbikes, cars, APCs, MBTs, helicopters, and jets, and it mostly feels pretty solid.
Unfortunately for submarines, there's only one, and it's not very enjoyable.
All water vehicles, even aquatic APCs while in the water, suffer a bug that makes them go in a direction indefinitely if the driver changes seats or dies while holding forward/backwards.
Small land vehicles are extremely delicate, quadbike, car, or truck, you'll probably learn that driving through a few bushes will harm you very quickly.
Armored vehicles have no issue knocking over bushes, and even fences, at low speeds.

Multiplayer UI
The chatbox feels old and clunky with no way to filter chat channels.
This is a generally a gripe of mine because I may not want to see server messages (Player is connecting, player connects using modified data, player forced respawn, etc.) or the global chat channel of a server, which usually ends up being two teams mocking eachother.

The playerlist is only sorted alphabetically. No way to sort by team or join order.

Muting players only affects their voice activity, and the "mute all" button only mutes players currently on the server for you.
If a new person joins and starts screeching into the mic, you have to open the player menu again to mute them. My current workaround is to just have the voice-over-network audio option turned all the way down.

Hackers/exploits exist.
I can only remember one encounter with what I'm assuming is a hacker. They did something that just rapidly played a honking noise that disregarded my volume settings. It's wasn't voice activity; I had that way down at the time, and muting all players on the server didn't solve it.

Character management
You get to pick your face and some facewear. Usually doesn't even matter, though, unless you're a tryhard that refuses to use anything other than the stealth balaclava. The preview is bugged and won't show reskins properly.
You can upload a custom face, but a server has to allow it, or else you'll like Mr. Clean dipped his head in a vat of bleach.

Overall it's kind of okay, but not something I'd recommend to others.
