Easily the best Sonic game since generations. It's sadly not a step up from that game but it doesnt need to be. The game is really fun, the story is great and the music is fantastic.

My only issue is the constant reusing of stage themes. The levels themselves are fine but there are only 4 themes in this game: Green hill, sky sanctuary, chemical plant and what i think may be speed highway or some other urban theme.

The story as i said before is great. Without spoiling it, it can only be described as fanservice. So many nods to other games people thought sega is just ignoring. And there is actual character developements in sonics friends. Good job Sega.
