It's not very good. It almost seems like you are put into impossible situations and have to die just to be reset and upgrade then come back.

I'm not sure about the connection issues everyone else is getting. The server I connected to had 31 ping, the only thing I could relate to connection issues is when an enemy is 2 feet in front (first person) of me I am unloading into them full auto and maybe 1 in every 10 shots I saw took health away from them. I'd swear the blaster shots were hitting and it was just really bad hit reg.

Anyway I paid $42 for this after the discount and it really is no different than the old games I own on steam. I am going to refund it and probably pick it up down the road if I see improvement. I loved these games as a kid, flying the LAAT around Geonosis and destroying the big tower ships (cant remember the names). Flying the LAAT into the droid capital ships hanger as a space marine and destroying it from the inside. I thought this would bring back that nostalgia but it didn't.

At this point this game is not worth the price. I'm not sure what this recent "remaster" phase is all about. I am one of the small few who love remasters, but that means Halo CE levels of remaster, not just re-release a game the exact way it released when it came out. I'm all for remasters, remaster republic commando. REALLY remaster these old gems please.

This is quite easily Game of the Year/Decade, and it's not even close.

I am not really into these types of games, mainly because I sort of blow at strategy. I am the type of gamer who likes to hit things with a big club until they stop moving, or pump so much lead into it I don't have to think too hard. But... I sort of love this game. I can't put my finger on it but it yeah I got my butt cheeks clapped for hours and hours, I knew what I was doing wrong but kept making the same mistakes, more often than not I would just be playing much too quick once I thought I was powerful enough only to not see a status effect coming my way. And then it clicked, I ignited the flame and the very next run I extinguished them. Back to back victories after 15 hours of defeating blows. I think its a blast.

What can I say but this game is absolutely amazing. I haven't had a single issue with it and so far it has just blown my mind, with promises to take things further. Exploring the open world is next level and the detail is stunning. Both PVE and PVP is still enjoyable.

I am a major fan of Halo. When I was young I used to go to a family friends place every weekend and she had an Xbox, this is where my love of Halo began, every weekend we would do a play through of Halo CE. During those years I begged my mum for an Xbox of my own just to play Halo. One year my dreams came true and she found an Xbox at a pawn shop for $20, Halo CE at the same pawn shop for $5. The next year the 360 would come out and I wouldn't even know it, we didn't have internet. That year I did get Halo 2 for my birthday, it came in a worn broken case and it was everything I had hoped for. These were amazing years for gaming, the wonder I experienced from this series blew me away and it is something I long for to this day. Eventually years later I got a 360 for Christmas after begging and saying I will put the majority of my money up and she just had to pay the difference, it was every cent I had. At this time I had thought that I would have to sit and wait for Halo 3 saving day by day, but the the day we wen't to buy the 360 before Christmas, they had a sale on a bundle that came with Halo 3 & Gears of War. I am much older now, and Combat has Evolved (Video games have changed, and so has my perception of what I enjoy in them, I am no longer a kid). This game plays amazingly, I enjoy the gun play and vehicle play so much, the different guns and power ups are also awesome.

However Combat has evolved, and so has my refined pallet for enjoying game play, the series I have grown up with can no longer keep me hooked by an entertaining campaign the way it used to. I would bet that I am going to enjoy the campaign when it releases, and probably have multiple play throughs with my friends and even, however these days the multiplayer component is what keeps me hooked on a game. And while I enjoy it thoroughly, the exp system with the battle pass is a souring taste that will prevent me from playing until it is fixed. I am older and expect better now, I want progression for doing my best in a game because I queued up to play it, I don't want to have to find a specific gun and kill people with that. Team play modes already suffer from people focusing on kills instead of objectives, so what the hell are you thinking? The game play loop is great, when I'm playing the game mode I want, not the one I am seemingly forced to by this battle pass system. I am at level 5 in the battle pass, I decided I was going to try to level it, just play, yet having no progression made me lose interest. I know it's free but it feels like a kick in the teeth for us old Halo players, the progression in reach had me and my friend hooked. This step back has me unhooked. There's other stuff for me to play on Game pass, I can't leave a review for this over there however. Someone tell me if this gets fixed, and I pray it's before the death of the player base as we all know the best time to play is launch.

For real don't buy this. The game would make a whole lot more sense if it was sold as "Communicate to a team of untrained monkeys where to fly the plane and what to do". Quality of life choices left out in development are sold as game mechanics. You need to tag enemy planes for your gunner to shoot at otherwise your gunner will just sit in the gunner seat looking at a fighter shooting directly at him and playing his iPhone. If i was in a plane and my coworker only shot at planes called out by other crew members his first trip would be out the hatch without a chute. Yeah man I would love this game if your crew had any AI. But its honestly just frustrating having to click my pilot then having to focus my scope on the landing strip and telling him to land. Then at 3 different junctures on the way to the landing strip have to focus and tag it again, then having him turn 45 degrees because he apparently forgot what he was ordered to do. And then you have to tell him to put landing gear down and then focus on the strip and tag it for landing a final time. When we hired this guy did his resume say he was a pilot? Because i'm betting we got him from a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ zoo. I could honestly rant for hours about the issues I had in my 30 minutes (10 of which was menu and trying to figure out how to quit the game and start trying to find setting for volume, it's ALT + F4 or task manager by the way because their is no exit game button and you have to start the campaign to end the ear rape that begins upon start up) but honestly it's this easy;

TLDR: Do not buy, I don't even think I would play further if I was given it for free.
