I want to start off this review by stating this game is worth it. Please, if you have the money free, go out of your way and buy it before reading any more of this review as it will contain spoilers.

Now let’s get onto the review, which I will breakdown into positive and negative points:

- Positive -
The game itself starts off really unassuming, it’s your standard VN style game with a few choices here and there though it does boast a somewhat free movement system (I say somewhat as you are still railroaded to your next objective). Also, the chess segments seem rather lackluster but it’s all a front for the main plot which just throws you right in suddenly and it gets so good!

- Negative -
Ok.. now I’m not sure if the dev’s first language is English or not but the script could’ve done with a lot more proof reading. The sentences aren’t always the most well written (sounding like something you’d write in high school at times with run on or weirdly worded sentences) and there are a number of spelling errors (sometimes the same word continuously misspelled). Apart from that, sometimes a prompt that is meant to be read as an action is labeled under a charger (which usually signifies the text is words spoken by said character).
My only other negative is the combat system’s bugs and layout. I am unsure if this is just me messing up or not but I felt like sometimes my inputs would not register correctly, and I would end up taking hits unnecessarily. Also the layout is not always the best. By combining keyboard and onscreen mouse interactions, the combat can feel clunky, especially when you have such a small time frame to make an input. I found myself repeatedly missing the button to parry or taking a hit because I had to check my stamina and didn’t have the time to look back, see the attack prompt and choose to dodge or parry correctly.

I think the game is great overall, do not get me wrong. The errors I’ve pointed out could easily be fixed with a few well made patches/updates.

For what appears to be the dev’s first game, I am very satisfied with what I got to enjoy.

Still better than Cyberpunk 2077

This one of the best RPG stories I've ever had the pleasure of buying and playing. I loved the tale from start to finish, having enjoyed the art style and story through and through. My only regret is that I wish I had paid more, especially since I bought it on sale, and, even if I didn't, I still would've wanted to have given the developer more money than I did.

Now; I'd like to start off by saying that this game isn't perfect, I wouldn't ever expect it to be, but it shouldn't be disregarded. The game has a lot of potential as long as the developers do the right things with it. The gameplay can be fast paced, with many areas in the maps being hotspots for action, and the abilities seem to fit well with the fast pace, some require a bit of pre-planning before use though. Overall, a good game with some nice elements, but far from being perfect.
