This game is absolutely a fresh new experience, the design and story feels thoughtfully crafted, looking forward to uncover all the secrets and romance my babe Misaki

I'll be direct to the point: This is not a 820JPN (or like, $6USD?) game. This game should be free, or maybe $1. If the game was reasonably priced, I would give it a thumbs up, but I can not in good faith suggest it to someone who may end up paying full price for a non-fully fleshed out experience.

I think the other negative reviews are pretty spot on with the criticisms. This game wears its influences on its sleeve, but while other games have a slow burn and build up to a crescendo, this game is moving at 90 MPH from the very start, tripping over its own feet to reach an end we all saw coming. Every single bit of dialogue is so on the nose and banging you over the head with what I think are trying to be hidden themes to lead up to some OMG WOW ending, but it all falls flat. It reminds me of my experience with Death Stranding. At first, I thought the product placement and “like” system were gonna be some like, meta commentary on how we build relationships or what it’s like to live under a singular government but…no. It’s just a ‘like’ system. It’s just product placement.

That was the same thing with this game here. I thought it was leading toward some meta commentary on these sorts of games and the common tropes you find within them but…no. It’s just kids who all seem to have an abundance of flashbangs and ABSOLUTELY must bone the protagonist.

These issues aside, this seems like a nice first game, or something put together for a game jam. It’s not overly broken in any areas, and it got me interested enough to play through a couple times in search of little secrets. The music is appropriate, the characters are drawn well enough, and I really liked the initial setup with the Chess school. It really drew me in, and I wish more was done with that initial element.

Overall, I hope the creator continues to create, but I would suggest they take their time in telling a story, try to engage the player a bit more (and I don’t mean with combat), and be a lot more charitable with the price tag.

it's very nostalgic to say the least and super fun game to go through. The art and storyline are beautifully put together to create such a wonderful game.
10/10 would kill Sora again
