I saw the trailer before the launch and was very excited at how good it looked but kept my expectations in check considering it's a new IP from a new studio.

76 hours in, I have to say it exceeded even the initial hype I felt when watching the trailer. The writing, the music, how they mixed parry mechanics into a turn based game in a way I have never seen before. They nailed everything.

I thought the premise of the story was going to be just a surface level reason for fighting, but the story actually had real depth to it. Oh and did I mention the music? Yes? well I'll mention it again, because it had no right being this hard of a banger.

If you thought the game was going to be linear with minimal branches to explore, well think again because the map is so full of side content I haven't even cleared all of it yet.

In case it isn't obvious yet, strong recommendation. For those who come after.

Pretty fun, wish some actions could be undone though like exiting the shop accidentally

Despite the poorly handled launch and the ongoing bugs, when it works it looks amazing

VR performance seems to be better than 2020 for now, but it largely depends on the plane you're in

Imo, if you want a smooth experience, wait a bit longer for the bugs to be sorted out, hopefully we'll get the ability to manually cache plane textures at least.

This game is effectively a completely different game from when it was announced at this point. Wouldn't pay full price but worth getting it if it is on sale

MSFS 2020 has some outstanding visuals, weather systems and AI ATC, would say its a great new platform for third party devs to add content to but the base content (planes) aren't all that great. The landscapes look similar enough to reality... at 5000 ft, of course its not perfect when you get down to ground level. The UI for planning a flight and having it be programmed into your FMC directly is super convenient too

A few things to note:
- Game is actually around 90+ GB in size, you'll spend a few hours downloading the game packages while the game is running
- Prop planes are pretty good but the airliners lack advanced features (like fastening seat belt sign for some reason) and autopilot could use some tweaking
- Flying with a mouse and keyboard alone is nigh impossible (no mouse yoke like xplane), advise to get a controller, joystick or hotas
- They included the FSX music! Its named "Legacy" under sound options

Hands down best free to play game I've played so far.

A lot of depth and variability in the gameplay with reasonable grinds and rewarding loot

Fantastic writing and clever use of gameplay mechanics for storytelling.

All I can do is recommend this game.

Saying anymore would spoil it entirely. 10/10

Stop looking for a reason to buy this game. Rockstar sucks.
