I didn't click with this game at first. The tutorials were long and hard and I wasn't really enjoying playing these same stages over and over again. I would recommend doing only one of the tutorials at first and hoping right in the main game.

I went back a while later and got hooked. It's not your typical deck builder, since you get to respond during your opponents turn with dodges, blocks, and counters. There are no random cards to add to your deck, all of your equipment has a certain set of cards associated with it. I wasn't sure if I liked this at first, but it grew on me.

It takes some practice, but once you understand the mechanics, playing out perfect turns and clearing an entire screen of enemies on turn 1 feels great. It's insane how many pieces of gear there are to unlock and combinations of builds that all feel uniquely different. Each class has a piece of gear you can unlock, noted by a ? on each zone whether or not you have unlocked it or not. There must be at something like 200+ pieces of gear to unlock that each come with their unique set of cards.

Even after 50 hours, I have only unlocked about a 3rd of the gear.

Game is good, but has way too many issues. If dev ends up fixing them I'll change my review.

I lost about 4 hours of progress trying to clear the whole map, because game is stuck infinitely loading after one of the battles. Same behavior trying to load save after restarting game.

The performance after you start generating multiple effects a turn is awful. In the late game, every turn is a slideshow.

Also, it's currently not even possible to complete the tutorial because the rage mechanic doesn't work on mission 5.

I had to do a double take to make sure this game isn't still in early access.

I would rate a positive, but game crashes too many times an hour into a dungeon with all progress lost.

Game of the year.

Surprisingly good. It's Don't Starve in space with some base defense.

I'll remove my negative review once the issue is fixed. For now,

Saving is broken. If you start on hard and load the game, it will revert to easy. I wanted to try and get the hard achievements, but it's not possible unless you want to do it in one sitting.

I bought the emperor pack a while back, but never got around to playing it since. Today I tried to login and the game seems to be shutdown for good. How do I get my refund for my emperor pack?

Can't play for more than 20 minutes without the game crashing.

There is still no way to save the game over 3 years after release. Stay away.
