I'm writing this review after completing the first Crash Bandicoot.

The original Crash Bandicoot was the second game I ever played (the first being Spyro the Dragon) as a kid. I remember my mum brought them for me when I was 4 or something. So I have very fond memories of waking up early in the morning and playing this for hours.

This game is faithful to the original in many ways. For example the level on the 2nd Island with the foggy bridge and boar (can't recall exact name, there's a few themed similarly) you can still do that silly exploit where you jump and stand on the rope on the side and completely avoid all obstacles. And on the stormy castle climb levels the hitbox for the birds is forgiving in the sense that it's lower than you'd expect so if you were to jump lower you'll still bounce off it's head.

The game runs fantastic at 4k max on my system - granted I have a high-end system. Though it is quite rare to get many games running at 60 frames or above at 4k as hardware currently stands. I've had no crashes or black-screens and some unfortunate people have being having. Hopefully these issues are fixed with a patch.

The only nitpick I can think of is when you push a directional button to move it seems a little more delayed than I remember, I could be mistaken though.

I can't recommend this game enough, it's good old-fashioned fun. And still a great platformer for a 22 year old game.
