I am sorry, but I cannot reccomend this otherwise excellent game for one simple reason.
Interest.
Yes, in Tower Defense game, where normally you would put towers as soon as possible to strenghten your forces, game FORCES you to save as much as possible to get gold medals. And because I am so focused to 100% games, this little feature does everything right to get me so freaking mad, when another try goes off by a few points to the gold medal.
If you are not interested in 100% the games, this probably won't be perceived as a problem. Then go ahead, play it. It is fun. But for those who likes maxing their games, stay clear off.
