It's more deltarune. If you liked chapters 1 and 2, these are a major departure tonally both from those and from 3-4 too, strangely enough.

Very very satisfying bullet hell mechanics on top of an RPG where you have to treat every enemy differently, and where every enemy has different bullet patterns, elevates turn-based rpgs, usually an incredibly dull genre, to something that's worth playing both for the story and the gameplay.

Did a run to about floor 5 or 6, and there were very few hitches along the way. Game looks very nice, and having a big menu with all of the commands helps a lot. It's been years since I played so it'll take a while to relearn all of the keybinds, and this menu makes things a lot smoother.

One suggestion would be that when you've levelled enough to assign levels to skills, the little green plus appears next to the 'skills' tab as well.

Just kind of not much to it. There's been pretty much nothing new added since the beginning of the game that I haven't seen done better elsewhere. If you want a /good/ life-ruining incremental game, just play NGU igle.

Early Access Review
It's really good. Not really anything that's even close to this comprehensive when it comes to true sandbox god games.

It looks and sounds good, but it can be comfortably completed in under 10 minutes. I've enjoyed short experiences before, but this just left me wanting more in a bad unfulfilled way.

It feels incomplete in a way that I can't really articulate very well.

My opinion on this game flip-flopped significantly after watching someone play it again. Originally, I wanted to give it a negative review despite its other merits because I'm sick to death of non-literal nightmare sequences in games.

I still am, but like, idk. Seeing the pieces finally make sense on that second watch was really satisfying, despite being able to piece it all together after the fact regardless. It's a game you need to play twice, maybe a week apart from one-another so you really soak in all of the dialogue, and what things /mean/.

I'd be a bit more kind to this game if it was the developer's first or second game, but it appears to be their fourth.

Snowsquall suggests a sort of survival scenario in the cold, but the only time it will be an issue is when you're still learning the game's system and maybe mistake the campfire you find for being enough to heat you up with just one log.

It's also just not very scary. There isn't any danger, and the only monster outside will let you stare at it as long as you'd like through the window.

The game also boasts about 'straightforward puzzles', and like, sure. They're straightforward in that they aren't really puzzles, except for the one at the end which is a math puzzle that seems like it maybe needed another translation pass to really make sense. The play area is tiny, and you can cross it in about thirty seconds at its longest points, so at least you won't get lost.

If we're judging by the release dates, it seems like this game was made in about six months, and I do have to applaud the dev for making a game in such a short time- But you could beat this in twenty minutes. Not to say that short experiences are inherently not worthwhile, but they need substance and this has pretty much none.

it just doesn't really click for me. there aren't many upgrades that will change how you play, and you won't take them more often than not regardless. It has a strong art direction, but a very weak and childish tone that sort of sabotages the serious stakes of what's happening (robot uprising that killed most of humanity, pushing them out of utopia??), binding of isaac rebirth came out in like 2014.

a lot of the guns are interesting, but it feels like the best ones are the ones that fire straight and don't do much of anything special. You won't be keeping them, anyways, because of how enemy hp scales later on.

The different areas feel a bit superfluous. Some of them are suicide, like the ruins. There's no real incentive to take the harder path, so when you've unlocked and experienced them, you can just fall back into the motions

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I made a funny duck out of exactly 5 polygons and then made him spin.

name him.
